It may be something to worry about but then again it may not. From what I have observed, males dogs in general drink more water than female dogs so they'll have enough liquid in their system to "mark," which is an instinct they have. My male doesn't mark but he still drinks significantly more water than my female. I had a blood panel run on him and everything was normal, so I don't worry too much about it. Several people I have talked to who have a male and a female say that their male drinks more water than their female, too.
In your case, I would definately take him to the vet and get blood work run just to be safe. But, if nothing shows up, don't panic. It is probably just him being a male. |
