Hi, I have learned so much from listening and watching Philip Watson from
Cottage Farms when he has been on QVC. I have several sites bookmarked and will be happy to copy and paste them to you by pm if you would tell me which are you interested putting in, a flower garden or doing a veggie garden? I planted Jack a strawberry patch for Valentines Day, it is doing great. I still have all my veggies to get put in. We have many a Rose Bush, as they love the sun and do so well here. I also have put in a lot of Canna bulbs, due to our living in a windy location, I lean more to the shorter varieties of all my plants.
I have gotten lots of bulbs this year, putting in lots of Lilly bulbs, the one that is so hardy is the Day Lilly "Stella DeOro" and I am putting them all along our drive way, Philip said they are so hardy that one could run over them with a truck and they'd be back up in three weeks blooming again that's my kinda flower next to the drive way . Do you know the zone you are in? The soil preperation is really really important, that is the first step and also different plants require different soil types which also is important in starting, know what you are wanting to plant before doing your soil prep. I used a bag of flour to mark where I wanted what and then jotted down on paper a map of everything, so as it comes up I will know what is where Some plants are called companion plants and some shouldn't be put together, maybe they take after us people I must say that this computer has tons of information and just type in whatever you want to know in the search and whammy you will get tons and tons of information.
Happy Happy Gardening, Patti and Baby Blessing
I try to plant all perennial things, but will most likely plant a few annuals.
