I don't think you're mean to have only one. I was like you and didn't want to share my baby - she has a significant heart murmur and the vet doesn't think she'll live long. So I was all set to just give her the very best life I could and then she started getting separation anxiety and I decided to get her a brother to keep her company and to hopefully help me when I do lose her. It was the best thing I could've done! She can get possessive of me and selfish with her toys but she loves her little brother with a passion. And I can't believe how much I've fallen for the little bugger myself
