Ack! When we first got out Maltese and took her to the vet he told us that she had to have plastic surgery on her eyelids since she had tear staining. He said it was abnormal for any staining or tearing and we had to do this or her eyelids would eventually turn inside out.....hmmm if tear staining is so abnormal why does almost EVERY Maltse have it? Needless to say we never went back to him and our vet we use now couldn't even believe he would suggest such a thing when we took her in for a 2nd opinion. My problem is this...how many others did he tell this to and they go with since they think the vet knows??
