You can never get a pup use to brushing too early. It is a huge benefit to start brushing early on and getting them to obediently open their mouth for you for any reason. I agree if you are feeding dry kibble brushing once or twice a week should be fine, if feeding wet food, you may want to brush every day or every other day. Just make sure when you start brushing that you use a toothpaste made for dogs. Human toothpaste can upset their stomach. Also, if you search around on the net, you may find a toothbrush that has three double rows of angled bristles, two for the top of the tooth, two for the inside of the tooth, and two for the outside of the tooth. I have one of these, and I love it. Makes brushing a breeze!
