1. Short and frequent trips around the block to get used to
2. Lookout car seat, regular mesh car seat, my lap (while hubby drives)
3. Not feeding a few hours prior to driving in the car
4. Dramamine
5. Benadryl
6. Natural motion sickness drops

He is 7 months old and almost 4lbs. NOTHING has worked for us. He starts salivating profusely and then pukes up bile

My vet says I need to wait and see if he grows out of it. I NEED to take a trip to TN soon (25 hr drive). My poodle and cat love trips and do excellent........I am going to pull my hair out because I want him to enjoy it too

Help?!?!

The only thing that helped Jo is a prescription from the vet called Mechlazine (sp?). Jo is almost 28 months old and he has not outgrown it...he gets nervous if you even get him near the car. Riley used to get carsick but he's doing much better and I think he will outgrow it.

There was also a new medication just approved for dogs that get carsick but you'd have to search to find the thread. I'm going to find it again and ask my vet about it for Jo...I can't even get him a few blocks from home to the vet without him getting sick.
