Roxy is my 2 year old Yorkie I purchased for breeding. When she was almost a year old she started to limp a bit and her legs popped. I took her to the vet and discovered she had Leggs cathes Perthes disease and potella luxation which is congenital. The breeder I got her from didn't believe anything was wrong with her and said the vet was just trying to make money off me. She said she would exchange her for another puppy and would sell her. All I wanted was for her to help me pay for the surgery, which she refused. There was no way I could trade my little girl for another puppy. I had the surgery done and had her spade. The surgery isn't a fix, she can't get on or off the bed and can't run and play and get the exercise she needs so she is overweight. Despite her handicaps she is definetly my alpha dog. She's so sweet, allways greeting the other dogs and cats with lots of kisses and a wagging tail. She keeps the peace by saving the cats from Holly and Spanky who just love to stock and attack them cats.
