A TINY dog died after a clod-hopping postie trod on it as he delivered letters.
The mailman squashed Victoria Baguley’s Yorkshire terrier Gizmo as it yapped on the doorstep.
As he left through the gate he told the air hostess’s dad Eric: “Sorry, I think I tripped over him.”
Last night furious Victoria, 32, demanded an independent probe into the incident.
The Royal Mail has offered her £130 compensation.
She also wants the unnamed postie, who is still on his round, to be banned from delivering to her house.
She said: “I cannot believe my little dog was killed by someone simply falling over him. He had internal bleeding and severe injuries.”
Victoria who shares a house with Eric, 73, her mum Ivy, 72, and another terrier, was working when Gizmo died from head
injuries in Droylsden, Greater Manchester.
The Royal Mail spokesman said the incident was thoroughly investigated by them and watchdog Postwatch.
But Victoria, who keeps Gizmo’s ashes in a box, added: “I don’t want money, I just want to know what happened to my dog.”
