I think if it is a Vet office where nobody is there at night, then it is all just a ploy to charge more. I would pick him up at the end of the vet day and take him home. You can always crate him in a different room for keeping calm and quiet if needed. remember YOU are in charge and it is not the Vets choice... it is yours
