I am not sure!!! But a couple of months ago I sent a picture of Banjo to his breeder! she replied with- looks like he is "blowing his baby coat"?? I have noticed it has gotten thicker/longer since them!! and the texture is a little differnet, too!
Maybe some do- and maybe some don't! also in most animals there is a winter and summer coat!
But I have really no answer for you!
I just took notice of the term she used!!
