I can also add that as much as I love to go to Galveston you wouldn't want to live there...not so nice. We go every year to the Rockport area which is about 30 min. for Corpus Christi and we love that area. But as has been said it is HOT and HUMID in the summer. Winters are great though. We live in the DFW area and it has lots to offer but it is about 6 hours from the beach.
