My boyfriend and I put a play pen in our room when we first got our little one and lined it with puppy pads in case she had an accident, her water, a toy, and a blanket. She could see us and she would whine a little at first and then she was fine. She would whine when she had to go in the middle of the night and we would take her out and let her go potty and then put her right back in. After a few nights she got the hang of it. I just liked the play pen more than a crate cause it was bigger and I didn't feel like she was so confined cause the top was open and she could see through the mesh. Just an idea.
