gift exchange gifts hey everyone im so excited to do these exchange but im nervous that i dont get good stuff, not taking anyones ideas but what should i get thats the morn, like what do you guys give, im just nervous i guess. |
The best thing I did was go by my buddys wants! Another idea is go look at past pictures for ideas It is fun and I have been shopping for a few weeks now, so I am happy to say I am about done! |
i'm nervous too!! i think the list will really help.. and last year a few people sent a gift for the "human mommy" which i thought was SO nice.. and i am going to try and stick to Valentine's Theme as much as i can since the day is right around our exchange.. but i know i'll be looking at pictures from last exchange to see what everyone else gave.. iguess just get what you know your pup would like! can't go wrong! |
I don't think anyone is ever disappointed. Go by your buddy's wants and likes. What I really like to do is seek out the little mom and pop pet stores. They often have locally made items that cannot be found everywhere and the inventory changes every few weeks. I go probably once a month and if I see something extra unique or fun, I buy it and stash it away for the GE. Have fun. If your baby likes it, some other baby probably will too! Lastly, it is the thought that counts and it really is more fun to give than to receive. |
Definitely go off the list (in case of allergies, no-no's, etc), but then get things that you like too! --because most might not try something new until they get it. Just have fun w/ it and don't stress too much - everyone loves everything they get! Well, I always have! |
When I signed up for my first exchange, I went back through thank you posts from the last few exchanges. This gave me an idea of the type of gifts to give and the amount. Of course, amount really doesn't matter. I usually go WAY overboard. |
Awwwww I think everyone appreciates anything they get!!! I have some staples that I always send :) First, the infamous soccer ball b/c I think all yorkies should have one. Some treats (but look at their information for allergies), toys, and I usually try to find something special for whoever I get. |
Everyone is very appreciative. But, as a rule of thumb.........go by the list. If someone is allergic to corn.........don't give them treats with it.......lol You could never go wrong with toys! |
Question? Do you have to buy items that have a Valentine's day theme? I've been buying stuff and none of it relates to Valentines day.:( I want my buddy to like everything I get. I've tried to buy items that are Unisex right now because they were so cute in the store. Now I'm  and I want to  because I think I did it all wrong. I want my buddy to be :hearts6: when they open the box, not  :( |
I think your buddy would like whatever you give him/her, I know Tink wouldn't care if it was a Valentines theme or not. Throw in a Valentine card and you've got it made.:) |
First of all, HAVE FUN!!!!! I would also use the list as a very close reference. If you find something really special that isn't on the list, then go for it. But first and foremost, quit worrying and HAVE FUN! |
i'm SO sorry if i made you think you did it wrong.. i don't think there IS a wrong gift for the GE. i was just saying that WE might do a Valentine's theme.. but HONESTLY... the dogs don't care :p |

Please tell us what it is and how to get it? Thanks... I also am clueless about what to buy. We don't have many preferences to share because we generally buy from the reccomendations given here. I hope we buy the right thing:( |

coco LOVES that ball more than any other toy, but she always loses it!! |
Is it just a plain plastic soccer ball or does it have bells and fur? |

As long as you send a package... it's all good. |

I bought several items and they are not Valentine items. I will probably add 1 valentine toy and 1 valentine treat. It doesn't have to be with the theme |

YorkieTalk Gift Exchange VII Signup Please make sure you have read the Gift Exchange Rules and Regulations thread as well as the Gift Exchange FAQ before you sign up! Please do not sign up unless you are currently a Donating Member. The official "theme" for this Gift Exchange is Valentine's Day. Please note that we can not guarantee you get a Secret Buddy of the opposite sex of your Yorkie. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I don't think they all have themes - but it says this one does  I think that would be the fun part... :) |

I agree, but all the gifts don't have to be Valentine gifts. That is why I'm planning to add only a couple of Valentine gifts. If Rosie's gift didn't have any Valentine items she wouldn't be disappointed. Rosie likes anything she gets. |
Any gifts are fine, just be sure to avoid things that may be on someone's "Can't Have" list. The Valentine's Theme is just basically to pair up Yorkie boys with Yorkie girls, as best we can (we usually don't get the same amount of boys and girls in the Gift Exchange). Any lovey-dovey presents are optional! ;) |
I have a few valentine theme gifts but my town has no big pets stores just the mom and pop ones and they have still christmas toys no valentine type toys, so I am glad to know it dosent have to be all valentine related!! Grayson will be happy with anything!!! As I hope our buddy is too!;) |
