| Dog carrier options Hello everyone! I'm looking for a beginner carrier for 'daily' use. I will learn in 1 month (after breeder's vet performs liver tests), whether I will become a mom to a little boy Yorkie! I am a purse lover so I don't think I want to swap my purse for a doggy carrier and I don't want to walk around with two bags. I am open to options and I would love to know what you use! I bumped into this look and thought it might be good for carrying my pup around (I imagine I can put him in my open top purses or carry him by hand but later also give him the option to walk). Do you think Posh Puppy boutique's purse carriers are good? I want my baby to be comfortable so please let me know what you think. https://www.poshpuppyboutique.com/Di...ppo-discob.htm |

| I'm figuring out how to place a photo here so for now I have put the picture, that's in the store link above, as my avatar. Hopefully it also shows up on this post. Last edited by Foster2Owner; 10-12-2013 at 03:03 PM. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I can't imagine that would be even slightly comfortable for a dog. I know mine like their legs close to their bodies when they are being carried. Based on your description of what you want in a carrier, you might want to look at a sling type carrier.

I liked this one but was concerned with the dog's comfort. I liked it because I would want to use it by slipping my forearm through the straps and just holding the pup to my chest. I'm scared of him getting jumpy so I thought the straps would be good protection. I guess I'd have to see if this would allow flexibility in the pup's leg and arm movement. I have yet to find a picture of a pup being carried in one. Maybe for a reason?

| Ah ha! Finally found one in action (it was in the NY Post). If I were to get one I would still carry the pup in my arms. I just want it for extra protection/security so he does not accidentally fall. |

| please just dont carry your baby in the back if you do get one like this..if you were walking down the street another dog could attack without warning. just my fear coming out looking at that. im just always on the look out for the big dogs who may think smaller dogs are a toy.

| I use Kwigy Bo Alex. It's seen better days but I love it so much as it has been very useful for 4 years. I've also tried the Jaraden Soho, which is so pretty!!! I do have to put in a slight warning for people with bigger yorkies (7-10 lbs) this bag may not work for you. I want to try the a few other bags but I can't think of them at the moment.

The Jaraden Soho is going on my list of contenders. I have Henri Bendel's 1907 centennial stripe puppy tote on my list but it does not look like a regular purse and that's why I'm liking the Jaraden.

| I sell the Jaraden carriers. I am using the sharcare now, but also have the soho (which I agree is questionable for dogs over 7 lbs. but there is a larger get a way bag that is for bigger dogs... but you have to be tall to use it lol). I really like them, they are solid and protect very well. I also like the new quilted bags that petote has out. There is another brand that I received some info about from my vendor.. Sad to say the Kwigy bo is hard to order. I am guessing the company is either out of buisness or having some "major" trouble. I don't sell them but there are some really nice slings on the market too.
