| Hey Fellow Crafters! I was knitting late into the night yesterday and realized I have a lot of scrap yarn left from my projects. Then I thought those that sew daily and wonder what do you do with your fabric scraps? Luckily I found good use for my yarn, I use it as stuffing so nothing really goes to waste! I was wondering also if anyone gave special names to the things they create. I came up with 10 for each yarn swatches this week. Sweetie also helped in the process and is very supportive of my inventions. He actually named one of it and it sorta "clicked." So now I have names from "Rambo" to "Strawberry Shortcake." I plan to make a total of 100 in my inventory by the end of next month, 10 for each name. Hopefully I can knit fast and still maintain the same quality. So my second question is, does anyone else name their bows/dresses/accessories/etc too? |

| I keep my scraps for practice or to make something for a friend, but at the moment I just started so I don't have that much Funny that you should ask about naming your pieces, I have been thinking about names for my harness vests as we speak, I think naming the items make them more special.

| When I did a lot of sewing, I ordered labels (for all my quilts, clothes, scarves) that are embroidered. R.A.Z.wear which are the initial's of Razael, Azrael and Zada. I still put these labels in all the doggie things I make, but I don't sew too much these days. I do love making quilts though for the fur kids and as gifts. (Not the kind of quilts you do on hand)

| OMGoodness!!! I have been sewing regularly now for about 12 years and I have more scraps that I want. LOL The good thing is I bought organizers so everything is organized by color and I love it that way!! What I do with scraps is I usually use them to test stitch designs like if I'm using a special stitch. I use the fabric to practice on to see how it will look on the fabric and make sure I have it set up correctly. Now I don't very often have many scraps. If I do have extra fabric, I also make outfits for American Girl style dolls. That usually uses up most of it. I have to have excess fabric as it means I overspent and wasted $$. I'm Dutch and we don't like waste of any kind. LOL

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I save my scraps as well. I use them in many ways. I have used leftover fabric in Scrapbooking projects like cards and layouts. Scraps are great for making your own flowers too to use as embellishment on a project. My mom has used my fabric scraps to tear into strips to make bows on her wooden/burlap hanging signs she makes. I use as scrap to run through the machine right after I have oiled the machine to get any excess. I've even used fabric scraps to make some sad looking Barbie doll clothes when I was a child. Lol. We call them scrappies in our craft room. I tend to name different styles as well. I have a book that I've written down many different style ideas in I just need to get in my craft room and get them done. I'm wanting to do a major overhaul on my etsy shop. I've already purchased some new custom made graphics. I just need to get some new things sewn and get it done. Never enough hours in the day. Lol I can wait to see all your custom creations too!

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Well I'm not sure if all appliqués are the same but here's like what I would love to learn! Yorkie Present Applique Design by SimplySweetEmbroider on Etsy I keep asking the hubbs for an embroidery machine. Maybe some day. Lol

| Yes there are patterns for appliqueing. My other passion, behind dog dresses are denham jackets. I love to decorate them. I use alot of patterns by "Serendipity". I think the designer is Susan Whitt or Karen Whitt. She is a fellow Texan, has wonderful ideas for skirts, dresses, tops, jackets and purses. But I like her applique patterns the best. I usually redo them a bit to make them my own. Its very easy to applique, you iron wonderunder on the back or fabric, cut out your shapes from that, iron it on the garment, pin "tear away or stitch n tear" on the back of the garment to give it some stability and start decorating with a zigzag stitch. You can experiment with different colors of thread and widths of zigzag. |

| I have to ask those whose passion is sewing, so please indulge my curiosity: 1) How did you get into sewing? 2) How long have you been doing it? 3) What type of machine(s) do you own? 4) What do you consider is your style? 5) How long does it take for one single dress? 6) Do you work on multiple projects at one time? 7) How many times have you've injured yourself while sewing? 8) How organize is your crafting area? |

| 1) How did you get into sewing? I didn't 2) How long have you been doing it? Haven't - yet. 3) What type of machine(s) do you own? None, yet! 4) What do you consider is your style? If I ever learn, I'd like to make dresses similar to what Aymee does. Bold colors and patterns, ruffled skirts, and if I had the option, I'd personalize everything I could get my hands on. 5) How long does it take for one single dress? 6) Do you work on multiple projects at one time? 7) How many times have you've injured yourself while sewing? While making something for my SB I cut right through the fleece and into the palm of my hand...with brand new, very sharp scissors. 8) How organize is your crafting area? It's my kitchen floor. So...LOL. This post was basically a bump for Thuy...and a distraction for me because we're watching scary movies and I'm terrified
