LOL no my grandmother has been gone a long time, she was born in 1896, you are forgetting I am 57 Unfortunately I have to purchase the crochet roses from a lady I call grandma from Etsy, most of the other stuff just comes from JoAnns, while in NY I went to the most amazing store called MJR is was as big as Joanns and sold nothing but trims, ribbons, buttons and so forth and the ceilings had to be 40' high and was filled to the top with rows of trim I stood in the store for hours just looking up.

The reason I gave this soon to be line of shabby chic type vests a name is I want to create an image so people will be willing to donate money to rescue groups in order to get one. The name comes from of course my Lola and then my grandmother who's name was Rose and my mom who at 86 still raises roses, then there will always be at least one rose on every vest. I am just gathering all my embellishments and want to make a couple more then a few will be donated to the Rescue groups for raffles, I know Lady Jane wants one for her raffle and hopefully from there people will see them. The trouble is though it will have to be for a good donation and I can't make that many of them because of time, it is just a hobby. So that's the story of Lola Rose, one of a kind

Oh my...your generosity is overwhelming! You are such a wonderful person Donna and a terrific idea to make a name! You have definitely done that. I'm so impressed. I would have loved to see a store like that. I bet you go shopping there when you are in NY and will come home with all kinds of trimmings, lol.

thank you but don't give me to much credit LOL I have not donated anything yet, and I don't think it will be huge amounts as I am not the fastest sewer in town, but heck every bit helps and perhaps I can inspire other sewers or people that crochet to help. I do plan on hitting that store again when I am in NY and will post pictures on FB
