| Looking for a Pup anywhere from ME to MD Hi Everyone! I am looking for any recommendations for breeders in the New England or Mid Atlantic area. I live in Fairfield County, CT and have no interest in having a puppy shipped. I would like a home raised puppy, whose parents have been health tested, and preferably with champion lines. I am most concerned about health and temperament, appearance is not very important, but of course the cuter the better! I know that I want a well bred puppy who is less likely to develop any liver/heart problems, so a backyard breeder is not an option. I would love to find a breeder who is really interested in placing puppies according to temperament, and how well they feel a certain puppy will do with a certain owner. If anyone has any kind words about their favorite breeders in this area I would be very interested. Pictures of your dogs who came from the breeder you are recommending would be fun too! I have been reading here on YT for months now trying to find just the right breeder, but I have yet to. I just joined and hopefully can find out a little more about the yorkie community here on the east coast. Thank You! |

| If you look in the forum you posted in (Yorkies for Sale or WAnted) there is a post my Nikis2, she has pups in MD. I got my little girl Shadow from her and she is doing just great. She's very laid back and not a "yapper". She gets along well with our two large dogs and she has been in the best of health. When my husband and I went to pick her up (we live in NJ) Bonnie had houseguests and still spent over an hour with us. I still email her pictures once in a while. I found her to be very knowledgeable and sincere and I feel I can contact her at any time with questions or concerns. I saw the mother and grandmother of Shadow, she also was fostering some rescues. You can see Shadow's album in my profile. You can PM me if you'd like. |

| Thank you Jojomima for the heads up. Her website also says she has another litter that was born in December so I'm going to inquire about those pups as I am hoping to be bringing a puppy home mid march. |

| After doing a quick search here, I found another thread with some very upsetting comments about Niki. If anyone has any other recommendations I would be grateful. Thanks again! |

| Please check the YTCA website. Other than a list of member/breeders, there is a lot of valuable information. Good luck in your search. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

| It is so refreshing to see somebody who is actually more concerned with the reputation of the breeder and not the urgency to find a puppy! Just remember, your puppy will only be as healthy and happy as the breeder is reputable and I admire you for taking the time to do your research. I wish I knew somebody in your area, but I would definitely check the breeders listed on the YTCA website. If they don't have puppies right now they are supposed to refer you to another reputable breeder. Good luck and when you find your baby make sure you share with us!
