Elbow needs a home in Toronto area Hi, I am looking for someone to take Elbow. She's turning 1 in October or November...I forget...so she's about 10- 11 months old now. She's house trained....but has occassional accidents. Little babies can't help it! She's very mild mannered and rarely barks in the home. She's a great dog...but we have to give her away because I am expecting my second child and will be home with both children as of January. I am afraid that I will not be able to give her enough attention.

I have no idea. I got her from a pet store...I know...how terrible of me. But it was an impulse buy and my son is absolutely thrilled with her and still is. I wouldn't be giving her away if I was expecting a second child. I'm just concerned that I won't have the time for her. She may get jealous or depressed.

As a mother of 2 children. 2 and 6. My mason is very loved and he knows he is. He LOVES my children and hes 12 weeks old...younger i kno wthan yours but im sure she will feel the same, unless theres really another reason your getting rid of her since she was bought from a pet store which I HOPE is not the case! It would probably make the pup depressed if you gave her away cause of another child. You can still spend time with your kids and her to...It depends on how much time you want to give! I'd keep her if it was me! Kristy and Mason

Hello Hey...The pet store thing was never an issue. We didn't even think about a breeder until we bought her and by then it was too late and we were happy with her. She has been healthy and a great dog really...but I don't know what it is...but my husband gets home from work at 7 pm now, which is 2 hours later than his last job and he used to walk the dog right after work. I have no time since I go straight from work to daycare...and then since I live far from Finch Station, I stick around the area and have dinner with my son so I can pick up my husband. He never used to need to take the subway, but now he does...so we don't get to walk her until 8 pm and by then, she's already had an accident. We just feel bad for her and our schedules right now are so hectic. I just want something better for her. My son would be devastated...I know he loves her so much too. Oh and by the way...the only bad experience I had with her, being from a pet store and stuff, was the potty training! It was terrible! She couldn't discern where was an appropriate place to poo because she had been trained in the pet store to poo where she slept! It sure took a long time before she became potty trained! But I'm glad it was just in time for our new house!

Left alone?? I was wondering how many hours is Elbow left alone?? Is she in a crate or does she get a run of the house. I can't imagine how difficult it would be raising kids and pups at the same time. My son moved out 3 months ago had the empty nest feeling so Jack and Mandy help fill that void, they make me laugh often. I am also going to graduate school getting my MSW in Social Work. However you know your limits and if you can not care for her then you are being a good pet owner and finding her a good home. Jack and Mandy's Mom

Thanks for those kind words I really appreciate it. However, sometimes I don't feel like such a good pet owner. I just moved, my husband just got a new job with LONG hours and being pregnant is not helping the constant mood swings! =) However, I must do what i have to do, right? Elbow is left alone from 7:30 am to about 5:30 pm on most days....because no one is at home to walk her....and she usually does just fine. Occassionally though, my husband will miss his GO Train and I have to pick him up at Finch station at 7 pm...which is terrible. Also, those nights when you have to do a ton of errands...it really takes time away from Elbow. I am also in the process of interviewing new home daycares for my son and it's usually after I pick him up from day care so he can come and be there with me. It's tough because my husband doesn't get home until 7 the earliest...and I have to take care of groceries, finding new day care, getting dinner ready, etc....I find myself completely bombarded. By the time I get a chance to relax, it's time for bed!!! THANK GOD!
