Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | need help I am interested in showing my little boy,Sebastien. The breeder mentioned that she feels he has a lot of potential, just in case I might be interested. Does anyone have any advice or links, websites that I could learn about showing. I'd like to start right away with the "stacking".He is 4 1/2 months old now and I want to give him the best start possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| Carl, Sebastien is a doll! I am not aware of any internet resources about showing but there are A LOT of excellent threads on here about it. Here is a really good recent one http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...g-help-me.html Stacking is definitley essential and so is table practice (where someone pretends to be the judge and goes over your dog). They sell stackers (where the pegs are positioned so that the dog stands on them and learns the correct placement of their feet) but IMO you can teach them just as well on a standard grooming table. Can you ask your breeder for a copy of the YT Illustrated Standard? That would be very helpful to give you an idea of who the confirmation is supposed to be--this will help you when you are stacking your dog. I'm gonna send you a PM |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | He is darling!! There is a great deal of show info available on this site Mighty Mite Small Dog Sports Forum: Dog Shows, Training, & Dog Sports for Little Dogs (Powered by Invision Power Board) On stacking...it is most helpful to have your table in front of a mirror so you can see his stance from a judge's perspective. You also want to get a show lead so you can practice walking too. Good luck!!!
