| Urgent request for help & donations for little missy! Graphic pic's! This is the first time I have ever put out a plea for help for any of our Foster Dogs but, we are in great need to help pay the Vetting for this sweet little girl who has been through so much! Please read Missy's story below: Missy's Special Story UPDATE: 2/17/2012 UPDATE: Missy was fortunate to have some very lovely angels ready to pick her up and take her all the way to Monterey, CA where Dr. M. was able to operate on her the same day. Missy thankfully survived the 3+ hour surgery to repair her hernia and put back all the intestines where they belonged all along...her little tummy. She is reported to be having a bit of a rough time post op but, the fact that she's not happy and trying to bite can also be taken as a good sign as well. Continued updates to come...and please send your donations and positive thoughts and prayers for a 100% recovery for our little girl! 2/15/2012 Missy is an 11 year old female Yorkie who was surrendered to YTNR as her owner entered a Nursing Facility while battling his own health conditions. Missy's owner had been unable to properly care for her for a great deal of time and this little girl suffered dearly. Missy has a serious condition of an Inguinal Hernia which was left untreated for 6 1/2 years. In that time, her Hernia continued to grow larger and larger as her intestines filled that space. This large mass she carries on her abdomen has caused her a great deal of discomfort. It is a daily struggle for Missy even though she has learned to accommodate the obstruction of just walking to do something as simple as to go outside or get up to quench her thirst from her water bowl. Even despite all of Missy's discomforts, she continues to display all the sweetness of a little angel. Even a simple belly rub has to be carefully done so not to cause her any pain. Such a condition was absolutely preventable and treatable and why it was allowed to develop to this stage is a pure tragedy. Missy is in desperate need of having her Inguinal Hernia surgically repaired and to be restored back to health. It will not be an easy procedure now as so much of her Intestine has filled this cavity and attached itself to muscle. Because of this, there is a big concern whether she will have enough of her own skin to ensure proper closure of the surgical site. We are hopeful that with the skilled care of our Vets and possibly the use of a Mesh surgical product that her Vets will successfully accomplish this procedure.

| Missy Update! Missy was ready to come home to her Foster Momma on Saturday. However, her first day home didn't last for very long until she gave her Foster Mom a big scare. Poor Baby hadn't had a poop in a few days and anyone who knows what it's like to have abdominal surgery or even a c-section knows what that first time to really use your abdominal muscles post op (that's all I'm gonna say...) feels like...painful! So, Missy was in some distress trying and got stressed out and made some gasping noises like she couldn't breathe and straight back to the ER hospital they went. After an overnight stay which included x-rays & some oxygen Missy was given the green light to come home. We aren't exactly sure what happened but, the Vet suspects Foster Momma may have mistaken the after-effects that some dogs display from the intubation tube as a sign Missy was in a bad way. Tonight Missy is resting comfortably at home with Foster Momma and Foster Daddy and their lil'boy, Hank who's being a true gentleman to his new foster sibling. It never ceases to amaze me when dogs know that one of them isn't feeling well. We'll give Missy another day or two and ask Foster Momma to take a picture to share with those on YT who are following her story. It's so wonderful to know that Missy will have a better life now that she had her life-saving surgery! Will update soon...

| Poor thing....I had two C-Sections, so I can relate. Very painful. I hate that she has to be in pain and be afraid. BUT, now she is getting the love and care she so needs and deserves. Bless all of you for doing so much for these sweet pups!!!!
