This is frustrating story... I mentioned about my BF's sister dragging her little boy around on his leash and it hurts his neck on the thread about leash. She doesn't really care for her baby. "Dogs will be dogs" is her words....:mad:
She'd been leaving her dog with anyone in anywhere.
Due to this her dog(Rambo) is very anxious little guy.
Can you blame him? He gets anxiety attack, because he's been moving different person to person & places to place.
Because of this, he doesn't really eat well and he needed to be hand fed.
I spoke to my BF's sis and found out that she just bought one way ticket to hungary and she doesn't really know when she's coming back.
My BF just told me that his sister left her first dog outside and lost him and ran over her second dog with a car!:eek: Not only that she left her third dog in shelter to be with her BF in FL which only lasted couple of months and her dog got euthanized next day she took him to the shelter!!!!:mad: I & my BF spoke to his mom and decided to find better home for this poor boy. I really want to take care for this little guy, but I already have 6 of my own and can't really give him full attention he needs. I am looking for someone in local area. I also need the person to make an appointment with the vet to neuter him(I should be able to call the vet to conform it) There's no charge for this little guy, we just require lots of love and good quality food and care he deserves.

I hope you find the perfect forever home for him soon - maybe you should charge the price of the neuter and then have him neutered before letting him go?

Yes, I'm taking him to the vet for check up and I was thinking about neutering him and charge for the neuter fee.
Rambo will meet with three ladies(lucky him!:D) today, so he's busy getting ready for it now - need to look nice for ladies~:cool:

Good luck finding him a new home. Please be very selective in finding his new home. If you need to have a place for him, I could foster him for awhile, but he would have to be good with other yorkies. I'm sure mine would love to have him stay with them. They are very friendly.

I just want to say, you are a very kind and selfless person for helping this little boy. I hope his forever family finds him soon and he is loved and spoiled, and loved some more. Please keep us updated.

I think this is a fantastic idea! Neuters are not cheap. Kaji's was over $300 and that's including me skipping on paying for a cone from the vet. (she wanted an insane amount!!) If a family is serious and wants this little baby to be their bay, they won't mind paying for the neuter. They're going to get it done anyway right? At least in an ideal world. Anyway, it will at least help you weed out some people. You schedule the neuter, and have the new mom pay for it. It's up to you if you want to pick him up, or have him go straight to his new home. I would lean on the side of caution and let him heal for 2 weeks before releasing him to a new home. One thing at a time so you don't stress Rambo out too much.

I hope he finds the wonderful home that he so deserves.:)

All three ladies(families) LOVED Rambo! I already new that everyone will fall in love with him once they meet him, cause he is just irresistable:D
Everyone we met today seemed like nice people, but the task is finding him right home where he can feel that he belongs and bark "It is my home!" and find someone who can really commit to take him as life long family member. I thought it would be best to find stay at home mommy or daddy (need someone to be with him most of the time since anxiety is his issue) I agree that I need to take time transfering him to new home to stress him as less as possible. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, and hoping he is as health as he looks!:p

I think for now, it is best for him to stay with me and my furbabies, since he's visited us time to time, he knows us. He gets along too well with my babies, and they've been running all over the house for hours and made big mess for me to clean! I don't know how, but they got hold of my white tea bags on coffee table and teared up all of tea bags and tea leaves were all over the places!:eek:
At least, my apt smells good:p

I just want you to know that Rambo need to be with either stay home mom or daddy(who can be with him most of the times)
Person who works 9-5 or student who has to leave him at home by himself more than couple hrs is not good candidate for him.
Please understand that that's what's best for Rambo.

I just want to tell you I think you are so wonderful to try and find the right home for him. Every dog deserves a loving stable family, who will care for it properly. I'm so disappointed when breeders don't really investigate the families they will be placing their dogs with, they are responsible for this life, and should take the job very seriously. So many people who have dogs, I wouldn't even place a houseplant with!

Thank you and I agree with you, however some people get offended when I ask where they live.:( Anyway, Rambo had great play time at the central park with my boys this morning. They kep barking at me to run with them, so ran like 5time around small run:D.
They were like my personal trainer!
Rambo met some potential parents at the park and going to meet two families today, so we'll see how it goes. So far, Rambo really had good chemistry with the lady we met at the park, and she has bichon boy who had so much fun with rambo. Rambo started to come around and show his real personality which is sooooo playful and loveable!!!!! :p

Rambo was so cute & such a sweetie. My sister would NOT stop talking about him.
But if you feel like we're not the best family for him that's fine, its what's best for him ;-) we'll just keep looking. I actually forgot to tell you that sometimes the ASPCA gives out vouchers for a free neutering. That's how my cat got neutered at the vets office on 91st. But that was like YEARS ago so idk if they still give them out.....but you can check.

sorry, we've been all over the places and just didn't have time to call you
and thank you for understanding me taking enough time to find rambo the right home. We just came back from vet's office and he agrees that rambo needs to be with family who can stay with him most of the times. He's anxiety issue need to be treated with lots of time spend with him bonding & playing. He starts to shake if you are out of his sight, so it requires much time to be with him to insure that he is not left alone.
I believe that aspca has the truck doing neutering and spaying, but these services are free to limited areas or people? - I asked the lady on aspca bus, but I'm not 100% sure.

Umm I know the bus definately comes to the ASPCA on 110th. My mom says its on 125th too (not sure exactly where) & when I used to work on 92nd I seen the bus at the 91st ASPCA. I know they do check ups....but I didn't know they did neuterings. Idk what days they come around though. When they come around I think you fill out some papers & wait. That's what I see people doing.

Rambo met with two more families today and unfortunatly, they both had little children under 10 and they were looking for puppy for their kids.
I mean, I think it's ok to get children older puppy (over 6mon) which is med to big size breed,but it's not such a good idea to get children small breed dog like yorkie. One of the mom even told me that she was looking for TEACUP for her 8yrs old daughter!!!:eek: Girl squeezed rambo so hard he yelped,and mom didn't seem to be bothered by it at all!:mad: I told her that she should wait till her daughter gets older or get larger breed dog that is older(about a year). She got upset, and said "I'm sorry,but I don't think you have right to tell us what kind of dog we should get!" and said that she always wanted "purse dog!" I don't understand how some people think that dogs are some kind of property or thing?!

Most people don't know squat about caring for a dog. Especially small ones. I put my dogs up when ever my nieces and nephew come over. Ages 3 to 11 yrs old. I am glad you told her. Hopefully she'll get some sense knocked into her before they get a puppy.

Most people haven't a clue. They are looking for a new toy. I wanted a yorkie for so many years but my wise vet advised me to wait until my 2 legged kids were grown due to the yorkie size. Since my kids are now grown I have my two little four legged kids to care for. I'm glad you are being so selective.

My son was 14 when we got Lucy. But he is an only child and very mature for his age. Lucy's Breeder said she could tell that he was kind and gentle with animals (which he is). And she met him like three times. He does the roughhousing mostly with the Westie who loooves it; and less with Lucy because she is so tiny. He won't even let Lucy sleep in his bed because he flops over so much and is afraid he would hurt her.

So I think Yorkies can be ok with older children but agree - less so with younger children. All the kids at the park want to pet Lucy, which she loves, but I never allow them to pick her up.

Hi, everyone!
Rambo has been busy getting use to being with us, and he's doing great!
He's more active, not so much scared of sound and I can go outside without him barking!:D I changed his diet from cesear's to primal raw which I feed my babies and he eats much better now! He's been going to the central park doggy run every morning and made many friends.:p
He's most likely to be rehomed with this lovely lady(with bichon) we've been meeting at the park. Rambo will have a sleep over at her house tomorrow and we'll see how he does. Hope he'll have alot of fun with her and her bichon boy.

how did the sleepover go?? i have a dear friend you visits the dog park in central park. She just lost her 5 yr old yorkie in the spring. she has a maltese and dashound too. she is just not over Gus yet and would not even consider taking on another yorkie. Gus got suddenly ill at the groomers and by the time they got him to the vet he passed. he was only 7.

Wow! I wish everyone felt like the OP does about not just finding *a* home for a pup, but finding the *right* home.
