| LOTS of Yorkies and Chihuahuas Need Help in NC!!! These are not my dogs! I was contacted by a girl this morning whose grandmother has a kennel in NC. Her grandmother is very ill and will not be able to return to her home, let alone care for her dogs, so her family is rehoming all of them. I wrote her back asking her lots of info about these dogs. I will try to highlight the important points. There are 39 adult dogs, they are kennel dogs not house dogs. 20 Yorkies and 19 Chihuahuas, male and females of both breeds. There are also 12 puppies: a 4 month old Yorkie female, a 6 mo old Yorkie female, a 4 mo old Yorkie male, a 6 mo old Yorkie male, a 4 mo old Chihuahua female, a litter of 5 Chi puppies who are 10 weeks and still nursing (4 females, 1 male), and a litter of 2 Yorkie puppies who are also 10 weeks and still nursing (1 male, 1 female). Some of these dogs are not friendly towards new people and can be aggressive. Most are friendly, a few are a little shy but are not aggressive. They have been given shots and dewormed by the breeder. No dentals or other vet care. The adults range from 3 to 8 lbs, with most being under 7 lbs. They are all 5 years and under in age. They need homes ASAP. None that they know of are pregnant at this time, but none are altered either. The 10 week old pups are still with their mothers, but otherwise there are no other younger puppies. I am not sure of the condition of these dogs, however, they are placing all of the adults as I understand it free to good homes. For the puppies they are asking $100-$200 but she said the prices are VERY negotiable because they want them in good homes ASAP. I would like to visit myself and find out the condition of the dogs, etc. I wouldn't mind fostering a few to have them spayed/neutered and properly vetted, but I could only take a few. If you want contact details, more info, etc. please PM me. If anyone would like to go with me to see the dogs, hopefully tomorrow or Monday depending on the family's schedule, let me know. Any rescue groups, etc. if you have room that's great. I feel so bad for these dogs. From what I gather the lady has been sick for a little while, and it just took a turn for the worst, so I imagine that it has been difficult for her to bathe, groom, and clean. I have no idea what to expect, but I would like to help get them out of there ASAP and either into good homes or with a rescue group, etc. The girl who contacted me seems very upset and willing to do whatever needs to be done to help the dogs. She said her family is working on photos of the dogs right now, and she is going to send them to me as soon as they are finished. Please contact me if you can help in ANY way!

| I was able to get in touch with someone from NC Yorkie rescue and she is going to visit the kennel right now and will try and get some photos and more info. They are going to pull the Yorkie pups and possibly a few adults if they can. She is going to call me when she leaves and let me know the condition, etc. Will post more when I have info.

| I'm too far away to be of any help, but wish you the best of luck in finding good homes for them. I cannot imagine an elderly person trying to care for that many dogs. |

| PM'd you. I hope and pray the NC rescue can take them all as that is the best/safest place for them! I "might" be able to talk DH into letting me foster a couple females, but no males as Barley is too aggressive to other males.

| Fostering I am in Maryland and willing to foster. I can talk to the rescue I deal with if needed.I can pick up or meet to bring any of them to this area. If anyone is interested in the Maryland area.

| I have tried to answer all emails...I have had a ton so I apologize if I have skipped over anyone. I will go back over them all tomorrow and respond to any that I didn't tonight. NC rescue has been to the home/kennel and I am in touch with them, will know more tomorrow. However, where it stands now is that the story the granddaughter and daughter gave was a bit different than what the lady's husband/boyfriend was thinking. There are a few dogs over 6 years of age, the rest are under. He is standing firm on the fact that the dogs under 6 are "in their prime" for breeding, and they need to be "sold" as such. The dogs over 6 he said he is willing to "give up" but he wants to sell the pups and the adults under that age. I am not sure what prices he was asking for, but clearly different family members are under different impressions, and the stories are conflicting at this point. It was explained in great detail to the husband/boyfriend the importance of having these dogs placed in rescues, foster homes, etc. and not sold for breeding. He is thinking things over and considering them...and that is all I know right now. The "good" news is that the dogs appear to have been fairly well cared for, no obvious skin conditions, no matting, they appear healthy. Dentals are needed, but nobody seems in terrible shape. I am truly hoping he reconsiders and does what is right by these dogs. I will update as soon as I have more info. The situation is a bit "delicate" right now, so I can't say much more than I have. Thanks to everyone for caring about these babies.

| Thank Goodness NC rescue has stepped in. I pray this guy does the right thing and signs them over, but it sounds like it's going to be amazing if he does.
