| There are ALWAYS Yorkies in this shelter... I feel so bad cause I'm so close but I'm just not ready for a 2nd dog. If anybody would need help transporting one, I could do that, tho.

| Rescue Me is aware of the Yorkies that are in this shleter. This shelter Does Not Work with us unless the dog is very sick or has biting history. Just to let you know we are on it. Thanks~

I recall this coming up before. Is the problem that they want a fee to release or that they will NOT release to rescue? Or, are they the ones who think their adoption program is superior to specific breed rescue? We have a couple here like that...most do work with us, but it is frustrating when they will not.

| According to their petfinder site, they are rescue friendly.

| I know there was one that told me they were but a rescue told me they were not. I never did figure it out. Since we did not have members in that area, I could not help anyway.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Most yorkies have 2-3 applications within 24 hours of being placed up for adoption. Others I have inquired about have gone to rescue because of medical or behavioral issues they felt needed evaluating or treatment than they were capable of. Although not perfect, I do think they try. Yorkies in any shelter in this area are very coveted and adopt quickly. |

I just hope that the applicants are screened very carefully. I could place yorkies all day long, but does not mean it would be what is best for them. Yorkies are unfortunately coveted all over the place which is their downfall...coveted for all the wrong reasons.
