Florida Yorkie Rescue We are a voluntary not for profit charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Yorkshire Terriers and Yorkshire Terrier mixes. If you need to surrender your yorkie for whatever reason, a permanent and loving home will be found! We guarantee it. FYR is not a shelter. It is a group of volunteers who work with rescued dogs in our own homes. All costs associated with the care of our dogs come from adoption donations and from the generosity of donors. We provide medical care, spaying/neutering, socialization and training of these dogs until a permanent home can be found. Our number one committment is to the little Yorkies that come our way. We treat them as if they were our own babies! We carefully screen all applicants to assure your family pet is placed in the most stable and loving home where they will be doted on for the remainder of their life!!! If you have a Yorkie to surrender or want to adopt a Yorkie in need... call us! We are here to help you! Main Office - 772-291-8101 www.floridayorkierescue.com yorkieadoptions@yahoo.com

I believe you are the organization that my son's fiance's mom was with. Linda passed away unexpectedly last December & was a great believer in the rescue & fostering of yorkies.

Sorry to hear the news I am sorry to hear the news of Linda's passing. I did not know her, nor was she with our organization. There are so many rescue groups in Florida, it is hard to keep them all straight. Our group is relatively new but we have been busy. I know in the coming months we will probably get busier because of all those yorkie purchases during the holidays. Once people get those little babies into their house and realize how much work it is to raise a puppy, they usually start calling us to surrender them. We are so thankful to get them out of those homes while they are still young. But still, it is a pretty sad situation. Thanks for writing. Nice to meet you. ~Kit

Adopting Yorkies outside Florida We do not adopt Yorkies outside the State of Florida. A home visit is part of our stringent guidelines. We want to find the very best home for each yorkie that comes our way and the only way we can insure this is to do an extensive background check as well as home visits. Most States however do have their own yorkies rescue agencies, so if you are interested in adopting a yorkie in need, you can do a google search to find one. Also, Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder also has a lot of yorkies listed in each individual State. Good luck. And thanks for the question. Kit
