| Re: Farmer & Dell I went to see these babies today and they ARE adorable! The male is a little shy and is kind of big for a Yorkie. I've been watching this list for two years now just waiting for my babies to come along. It seems they are always in California, Florida, or Texas and never near me, but these babies are only about a half hour away! I'm excited! Unfortunately, I just lost my 25 year old son less than 4 weeks ago and I am still experiencing a lot of grief. I'm a little reluctant to have my life go through so many adjustments and once. In addition, we have an upcoming 2-week trip planned in order to give us some time to relax and work through our grieving process, so we would have to leave the dogs somewhere while we were gone. On the other hand, they do seem like they would be a perfect fit for us and we could help them get over their grief, and they could help us with ours. I'm not sure if the timing is right or not. On one hand, the timing might be perfect, because I need these babies as much as they need me. |

| I am so sorry that you have lost your son - I will pray for you. I can understand your hesitancy. I will pray for your decision-making -- it is a big decision. I know some people feel that something else to focus on can help working thru grief - for others, it can happen too soon, too fast. I am so thrilled though that you went to see them. You know lots of people on YT have bigger yorkies - some fondly call them teapots and say there is more to love. If you do decide to adopt them - will the foster family or the rescue keep them the 2 extra weeks? I would definitely ask, it may help them with the transition

| Actually, they might be silkies instead of yorkies. at least that is what the rescue said. The male most likely IS a silky because he is longer than he is tall. Even though he is bigger than what I had hoped for, he is the one that tugged at our hearts, basically because he is shy and the little girl seems to be the boss, so we felt sorry for him. My husband could probably relate to him better, too! LOL! They did agree to keep them for us while we were in California for two weeks (first time to go there ever). However, our trip is not planned for about another 5 weeks, so that is quite a time difference. I think she was just saying she would keep them during that time....meaning we could bring them back during that two week period. My husband and I were both talking about them last night and I could tell he was settling into the fact we might get them. The dogs are mainly for me because I work at home and LIKE to stay home most of the time, however, my husband works 40+ hours and when he isn't working, he is outside doing something. He is an outdoor man so he is rarely in the house unless he is in bed. ) I hope that don't get snatched away from me before I get a chance to make a decision, but as I said, I don't want too many drastic changes in my life at the moment. My son would have loved these dogs, though. It has been 4 weeks tomorrow that I received the "dreaded news" and it took about two weeks for the shock to wear off and I'm not sure it has completely. I hate waking up in the mornings. This morning,as I was getting up, I was thinking how much easier it would be if I had two bouncing dogs loving on me as I was waking up! |

| hmm - I'm not sure what to think about the 2 being Silkies vs Yorkies - I just know I have 2 small yorkies, with long hair and people ask if they are Silkies, so I know there is confusion between the 2 Doesn't surprise me that Dell is boss -- I have always had animal in pairs, and the female is always the dominate one - including my Roxy will do a sassy bark at Bubba if he wants to come out in HER backyard - she barks right in his face for a minute But I would think with your help, you could teach Dell that you are leader of the pack and that should help lessen her dominance over Farmer. Glad you have offers for care -- I can understand why you might want to wait 7 weeks to bring them home. Praying the best for you

We had a little girl almost 1 year old returned to us as we always sell based on getting the puppy back if anything happens. We placed her with a woman that lost her husband last Oct. She has had Emma for a few months and said she helped with the grieving process. Her YT sign on is Nothwang. Emma actaully gave her a reason to smile again and has been quite a comfort. I'm sure Joanna would be happy to tell you how much a yorkie helped. You may want to think about how nice it would be to be needed and busy to help with the greiving process. You could look into having someone watch them while your on vacation.
