I'm not sure about the Yorkies. I was the one involved with calling there Monday. The story I got was that these were puppymill drop offs. She said that they encourage the mills to drop them off there rather then just dispose of them. At the time I was also told that these were not the dogs in danger of being put to sleep but rather the dogs at the Springfield shelter. I inserted the link. That particular place is strictly a kill shelter and they do not adopt out to the public - only to four rescues. At the time Laticha told me if any of the rescues I knew were interested to let her know. Every day they have so many new dogs listed and these poor things only have five days to be taken by a rescue or they are put down. In so far as Laticha. I really do not know what to say. I don't know her but someone posted a nice article about her and she seemed genuinly concerned over the dogs. In so far as being a terribly place / filthy. I'm sure they are doing the best they can there. There is very limited funding etc. I do believe though that these dogs should be spayed or neutered prior to being adopted or they are just put in the same situation they had been in - breeding. Let's hope that what the other poster said is not true and that she is not running her own mill. That would be a terrible thing. Elaine

does anyone know if they will give them to a rescue if the don't get adopted? Our Rescue wouid gladly take them. I think it would be horrible of them to put them down, and not give them to a recue. There are enough dogs being put down. Donna

As for these yorkies, I know it may be too late. However, if it is not or if you still need help. Let us know. We will be willing to adopt but MO is far from our location in Washington, PA. If there is a place where one of you who are going to save these doggies can meet us or train them our way, just let me know. email me geraldfwhite@comcast.net
