I'm on the West Coast, so it is impractical for me to foster. I'm willing to donate some $$ however. I'll keep watching ....

There has been a 2nd post about these yorkies. They will be euthanized by Tuesday 5/13 if they are not taken. PLEASE READ THE OTHER THREAD AS WELL. I live about 2 1/2 hours away and have volunteered to go get them if needed and be part of the YT train as well as donate a little money. It looks as if 2 rescues are getting involved now :) but 6 x $200 is $1200. I sure hope the shelter will release them without wanting that much money but maybe we can get a bunch of ppl to donate what they CAN and it will be enough.

Can someone call tomorrow and see if they are really going to be PTS on tuesday??? Like always i'm willing to help but do not have $200 to throw down right now

I'm willing to help in any way I can. I don't have the extra $200 right now and won't be able to get it buy tuesday, but if there is any other way I can help please let me know.

I am going to call tomorrow morning. I've been in touch with a yahoo group (Burlington Animal Rescue) and I have a woman who is willing to foster one or two of the girls. I can foster one so that takes care of two or three. I live in NJ and I would need someone to help in getting them to me. I hardly think that the shelter can ask for a $200 donation if they are intending on putting them down Tuesday. I would think or atleast hope that they are just willing to turn them over to a rescue free of charge rather then put them down. I will call tomorow morning and then we can go from there. Again I WILL NEED HELP A YT TRAIN TO GET THEM TO ME. Thanks. Elaine

That's EXACTLY what i said to someone. if they are going to be PTS anyway why wouldn't they just turn them over to a rescue?? i know there are a few people in oklahoma that would probably be willing to help!! just let me know!

Tomarrow more places should be open, so hopefully people can be gotten ahold of and more can come of this. Tomarrows a new day, hopefully the new day for a new beginning for these poor babies!

Hi guys. Yes we have an update. I posted this in a new post "Update on Yorkies in Missouri." I am reposting here in case some didn't see it. (Please see below). Thanks. Elaine

Good Morning guys. I just spoke with Laticha Duffy (Animal Control Officer) in the Missouri shelter where the six Yorkies are located. Apparantly, there is a bit of a misunderstanding. The six Yorkies ARE NOT IN DANGER, BUT with that said THERE ARE DOGS IN DANGER. There are close to a dozen at the SPRINGFIELD shelter which is strictly a Kill Shelter. If I remember correctly she said the shelter does not adopt out and only hands them over to licensed rescues. A handful of rescues. If ANYONE WORKS WITH A LICENSED RESCUE and can help any of these dogs out PLEASE CONTACT Laticha Duffy at the number listed on the link below. PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AND SEE IF ANY OF THE RESCUES YOU GUYS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH WOULD BE WILLING TO TAKE ANY OF THESE DOGS IN. I see that some have already been tagged for rescue but there ARE MANY THAT NEED RESCUE. Thanks. Elaine
