| Gentle leader wanted Hello, I am posting this hoping someone on YT maybe has one gentle leader head collar hanging around for me to buy. I would need eiether a petite or small. I want it for my new yorkie that I got her name is Bella very sweet dog she is 5 years old and has horrible leash manners and she can be very reactive to bike scooters and children so I thought, A gentle leader would work better then a easy walk harness which I already have. If any one has a small or petite one for sale or willing to give away one for a decent price I would love it. I would like a hot pink for my Yorkie but black is also good too. Please pm me ps: My girl is kind of chunky she is 8.9lbs so I am not sure sizing whys which to get the petite says under 5lbs and the small says under 25lbs would the small be to big? Because she fits into a petite easy walk harness even though it says for under five pounds.

| Personally.... I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I don't feel a gentle leader is the best choice for a small dog. It can put stress on the neck especially when you pull even if you don't mean too and there are so many other ways to help correct this problem. If you just take 15 minutes a day and just walk one way and the minute she starts getting ahead, say "nope" or Ut oh or something like that and walk the other way. You'll be going back and forth for awhile but it won't take long for her to catch on. And remember to praise alot when she is walking nicely. Say something that is consistent so that she learns to understand. Like "Bella you are walking so nicely, good girl" Make sure you give her a treat either when you are done or during for "walking nicely" or whatever phrase you choose to use. |

You are posting about a blinkey blink leader for a new 5 yr old female Yorkie. Where are your priorities? Why would you choose to divide what passes for compassion in the care of your Polo at this time, when he needs your undivided attention? You have a dog with undiagnosed neurological symptoms, said diagnosis you can't or won't spend the money for, and you go and get another Yorkie? But to answer your question, gentle leaders are not for Yorkies, work with your harness, pay a trainer to help you train her, or take obedience classes. I'm sure Polo will benefit greatly now that your attention is divided

| I have had Bella for almost a year now I got her way before Polo got sick, I just never posted anything I don't post that often on YT like most people she is a very high energy dog compared to Polo so I have had to do alot of training with her. Her parents gave her away after they had a baby and she did not do well with the baby and the family she was with could not give her a lot of attention she needed she gets a lot of love at my house. I got her for Polo because Polo is very shy and nervous around other dogs and he reallys loves her. DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND I GOT HER BEFORE POLO WAS EVEN SICK, I DID NOT PAY FOR HER THE PARENTS GAVE HER AWAY FOR FREE TO A GOOD FAMILY. I got her last summer in June. I would upload a photo of her but the photo is too big and I don't know how to resize it FYI: Polo is doing fantastic he is now able to walk on the hard woods before he could only stay on carpert he is even walking over to his bowl to get water and can eat out of a bowl all by his self now. He has been walking a lot lately every day he is getting better if you saw him now you would be amazed he has come so far in such a little time he really is a miracle puppy.

| I hope you can understand why you might have a bit of a credibility issue here. You've been a forum member since 2008 and have posted nearly 350 times, but you've never mentioned this girl? You reference Bella as, " . . . my new yorkie that I got . . ." and then try to say you have had her for almost a year. I hope you are being sincere, but given your unwillingness to pay for the vetting care your Polo so obviously needs I'm not sure it is going to be easy for the other members here to offer advice on your leash issues or donate a gentle leader as requested.

He might be doing fine temporarily but with the slightest movement he could have a relapse. Don't you remember the story about Roriee? She was fine too until she had a relapse and was screaming in pain. You need to do the right thing by Polo and get him the care he needs. Hock you furniture, sell your jewelery, take out a loan but to think he's had a miracle cure is doing nothing except prolonging his suffering.

| Maybe she meant her newest yorkie? Not necessarily her new one? I don't know. Why would you still want a gentle leader when you now know it's dangerous for her? Arent you afraid she will get hurt? I sincerely hope your baby polo stays better...
