I found a boutique close to me!! 3 Attachment(s) Last week I made a road trip to a Pet boutique I heard about. It is call Ooh La La Boutique. It is the cutest place ever outside decorated in pale pink building and black striped awnings. The inside was like pet clothes heaven!! I was there for 3 hours! The owner was the friendliest person and we talked and talked about our dogs and their clothes. This place is within 45 minutes of me and I didn't even know it was there until I saw a story about it on the news. She has been ther for 2 years. Needless to say I spent way to much money. She had some of the neatest things. Some of her stuff was very expensive(like a set of pet steps in suede, more like a wavy ramp actually, $250). I wanted those steps so bad, but just couldn't justify that much money. I bought some clothes for Lily and Buffy my chi. A pink glittery harness for Lily. The skull shirt is for Rocco, I must admit he look fabulous in it! A pink paisly leash for Lily. Some treats. Two little plastic boned shaped treat holder, they were called "pupperware". There is a picture of them in the thread "I made some treats". She even took me in the back where her inventory was to let me look at the things she hadn't priced yet. She had anything you could want for your pooches(except food). I know I will be going back. |
I really love that Mommys little cutie shirt that is just adorable. I wish we had a pet boutique near us. I would love to find something like that |
And that Rock Dog Couture dress is amazing!! Would you mind posting the brand/label name? Perhaps I can find that on the web! And you must post pics of the actual models wearing their latest fashions also! |
It says Pretty Smith Designs. |
Thank you Soneal!!! I am off to do some research as we speak! ;) |
Boy you are a very good shopper everything is just so cute. |
First of all, the little skull outfit is the cutest thing.....does she have a website???? Second, that is great that you found a neat shop! I wonder how you missed it with it being there for 2 years! Isn't that crazy...and a little funny too! I have done that about a place, find it and brag about my find to friends, just to hear them say it had been there forever! I get so aggravated because I don't have any in my area.....there are some if I travel 3 hours away! That can happen, but thought would mean a long day trip....OR with me, I would have to make it an overnight trip, so I can see and do everything else in that area. |
Oh yes a website would be even better!! Doggie shopping is the best! Ninna will wear anything I buy her... so unlike her human sister.. |
I wish I could find a cute boutique by me...Rochester, MN anyone? I don't like buying online because I always get the wrong size! |
Unfortunately she doesn't have a web site, yet. She is trying to get one set up, I'll let everyone know if she does. Her shop is in a part of a town 45 minutes from me that I am never in, so I guess that is why I didn't know it existed. Plus I don't know many people around here that dress and pamper their pets, so no one ever told me about it. She had so much stuff I had a hard time choosing! |
Boy they are cute I am in MN and I am trying to build a boutique at this moment. I will post it when I get it up and going. Also I looked online for the maker of the corture dress to but came up with nothing so far, I am going to check google next. |
Here are a few of the companies sites where you have to buy wholesale, which would be what you need if you are opening a shop.. http://www.animalsmatter.com/ she had their beds, blankets and steps and ramps(best I have ever seen) http://www.downtowndoggy.com/ http://www.cha-chacouture.com/ http://www.pretty-smith.com/ http://www.douglaspaquette.com/miva/merchant.mvc (she had his collars and leashes, I bought one) http://iseespot.com/bNetStore/Templa...plDefault.aspx (the skulls shirt) I have been thinking of opening a boutique myself(for about a year now), but honestly don't know where to begin. The girls that I went to was lucky, she had a empty building next to her house that was hers that she converted into her shop. Perfect size and already payed for so no rent. Are you having to rent a space or do you have your own? I also don't know if it would do well in my area, and I would want to have it close to my home so I would be close to my kids school. How did you decide on how much money to invest into everything you have to have? Sorry if I am being nosey, I have just always wanted to know how people get started. I would have talked to the girl whos shop I went to , but I didn't want her to think I was scoping her shop out as the competition. i would love to hear all about how your doing it if you want to share. |
Soneal, starting my own business is something I am also thinking about at this point in my life. Also, would love to open a pet boutique as this is something that would do great in my area and is something that I am totally gaga about. I too would like to hear about what are the first steps to take. :) |
