| ![]() Has anyone heard of this product? Leba III for teeth cleaning. It is supposed to reverse plaque and has published studies behind it. I asked them questions and they answered me pretty swiftly. The girl even said that she uses it on herself since 1994 and hasn't needed any teeth cleanings. I try to only put natural things into my pet and wonder if this would be a safe way to prevent teeth problems. I intend on brushing and letting him chew on hard things too. I guess they've been using it in Canada for a long time and have had no problems...however...I worry about long term effects that may be a result but that we cannot directly prove. What do all of you think? suzie |

| ![]() I haven't heard of that, but did a search on it and it looks much the same as what I'm using on Maddie, which is Life for Teeth and Brush away. http://www.petzlife.com/ I have been using it about 6 weeks now and plan to continue. I can't say that it's been great, because Maddie didn't have any plaque or tartar when I started. I just started using this to hopefully keep them that way and hopefully not have to have any teeth cleanings done by the vet.

| ![]() I cannot recommend LebaIII. My opinion is based on the opinion of a canine dental specialist in my area who checked out the product and the alleged testing and research claimed by the company. I would recommend instead, small toothbrush and the toothpaste sold for dogs. Don't ever use human toothpaste. The canine toothpaste is flavoured, has enzymes that will over time work to clean up tartar or prevent buildup if you are diligent in its use. If your dog currently has very tartared teeth and/or gingivitis, there may perhaps be some abcessed teeth and should be Vet checked. |

| ![]() I have the bottle here... Distilled water grapefruit seed extract propietary blend of herbs fermented corn distillate I wonder if the corn distillate is alcohol? I can't find where it says the percentage of that. Here's from their site: The main ingredient in Life for Teeth and Brush Away is grapefruit seed extract. Grapefruit seed extract, Grape seed extract, Thyme oil, Neem oil, Rosemary oil, and Peppermint oil. These are all specially formulated with distilled water and grain alcohol... Here's their product safety page: http://www.petzlife.com/gse.htm I sprayed some in my mouth once...didn't especially care for the taste though. LOL Maddie sure doesn't mind it though!

| ![]() I have the LEBA bottle right here. Ingredients: Distilled water, ethyl alcohol (25%), Lamaicea and Roseacea in trace elements. I'm really interested to hear why the dental specialist didn't like it, Lorraine. I haven't used it on Roxy yet, but you've piqued my curiosity! I'm thinking that maybe, over time, it possibly erodes enamel? Or maybe their research is using the product simultaneously with a specific type of food or something, which changes the results... My mind's going to all sorts of possibilities! |

| ![]() One review on a website says this: "We bought this product some time ago to help with our pug's teeth. After using it for a while we noticed no difference with his teeth at all. Eventually, our pug needed to have his teeth cleaned at the vet. During his follow-up appointment we brought the Leba III to see what the vet (who is acutally a doggie dentist) thought of the product. He said he would not use it due to the alchohol content. He also said that if your dog has decay, putting alcohol on it would hurt the pet. Imagine us putting alcohol on such a raw and red area. He actually thought the Leba III would be good for paint removal, or to be tossed. Just thought we would let everyone know what our vet said of this product. We too wanted to do the best for our pug, but it seems the professionals do not think much of it." |

| ![]() That's interesting! I think I will ask my vet, too. Makes a lot of sense. Roxy is not a fan of brushing, but I've been working with her a LOT and i scrape her teeth gently with my fingernail when she lets me. |
