Definitely going with the small. I just don't think my 16'lber will fit right in the x-small with his muscular chest. lol |
I was wondering if this would work on a yorkie that has cerebellar hyperplasia. SHe has intention tremors. I wonder if it would calm her down enough to gain a little more functional motor control. She is only 2.5 lbs and her chest is 10". Do you think that a xxsmall would even fit? |
We are on our 7th straight day of thunderstorms and poor Teddy is shaking like a leaf. I ordered the Thundershirt for him yesterday and I am eager to give it a try. Hope it will bring him some relief. |

I am having a heck of a time contacting the company for more info. They did e-mail a reply but it was not very helpful as they refered me to another portion of their website that did not answer my question. |

It arrived, the thundershirt I ordered for Winston is here. It fits him well and he didn't seem to mind having it on, I was a little worried about this because he's a nudist...never wears clothes. We haven't had a storm yet, but I'm ready for it...gosh I hope this works! |

The thundershirt is great for more than thunder! Madison always gets car sick and it's a miracle we took an hour and a half drive to grampa's house and she was fine! She also doesn't do well in puppy K because she's too distracted with the surroundings so we're forced to just observe the training by watching the other dogs while Madison just sits like a log. We put the shirt on for her first day of puppy K 2 and the trainer was even using Madison as an example for the class! The shirt is a MIRACLE :) |
The Thundershirt works for Teddy!:thumbup: We are having severe storms right now. Our table umbrella and heavy metal table were thrown to the other side of the deck. Umbrella smashed. Tree branches everywhere. Teddy isn't completely relaxed, but he isn't panicked and shaking violently. I don't have to worry that he will stress to the point of making himself sick. This is amazing considering the spectacle on the deck. |

Another Great Update This Thundershirt rocks! I had to run to the post office a few days ago and it was thundering out. I hate to leave Cooper at home during a storm but I had no choice. I put the Thundershirt on him and kissed him goodbye. 20 minutes later when I got home I was shocked to find Cooper in a room other than the living room. Usually when I arrive home, he's sitting very still on the living room couch waiting and shaking with excitement (or nerves)? This time he sat, cool as a cucumber on the sofa in a back room. He didn't really even care I was home. I was so surprised and realized that he must have anxiety when I'm not around. Cooper is also very sensitive to serious human conversations. Whenever my partner and I have a conversation or debate he gets upset and crawls off into a corner and shakes. We aren't even raising our voices at all. Well, I figured "what the heck" let me put the Thundershirt on him. So I did and he sat right between us without a worry in the world. The shirt may not work for all dogs. In fact, it does nothing for Max. But for my little Coop Dog, this thing is amazing. |
Woohoo! That is awesome news. I am finally ordering for Jackson tomorrow since I am in the 45 day return mark for Gettysburg over July 4th. Though there was an instant the other day where it may have been helpful - I can't remember for the life of me what he frightened by but I started thinking the Thundershirt may have helped in that situation. I'm hoping it works for him... he can be a real sensitive guy (Shhh! Don't tell him I told you! ;)) but anyways, yay I am excited! I'm going with the small because I think it'd really be cutting it close with the XS for him since he's at the end of the spectrum (he's about 18" girth). |

Me too! I ordered this AM so I'm sure it will be here soon. If I do have to exchange, at least I know I have enough time. :) He has a few issues. In general, he's okay in the car but he's definitely more anxious, especially since our car accident last year. Driving in the RV made him REALLY nervous for some reason. He loves it when it's not moving, haha, but while we were driving he never got comfortable or ever sat completely still for more than 60 seconds. I'm wondering if it will help him in the car, though the Snoozer seat made him a lot more secure for sure. Actual thunderstorms only freak him out if they are REALLY loud/bad. Fireworks and gun shots he is definitely afraid of. I will find a few things to test it out on I'm sure :) Yay, can't wait to get it! |

After reading this thread, I just ordered a Thundershirt for my Mini Aussie, Izzy. She is very sensitive to noises such as the vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, hair dryer. Yes, she's a wuss. She has a 21 inch chest and weighs about 20 pounds, so I ordered the small. I hope it will fit her correctly. Can't wait to get it and give it a try. Will let you know how she does. I googled for Thundershirt coupons and found all kinds of them. I got free shipping, a $5.95 savings. I also came across some $10 coupons off the pink and navy ones if anyone is interested in those two colors. |
I took Chester to the vet on Tuesday and asked her about his aggression issues. Over the past year, he's getting worse. We've been having problems with him nipping at pant legs and growling at people that come over. I stopped taking him to play dates months ago. Some dogs and people he meets he is okay with, but some of them he is not. He's perfectly okay with kids, but it is adults he has issues with. Our neighbor came over the other day and Chester drew blood on his calf. I was mortified. She suggested Thundershirt so I bought one yesterday. I haven't put him in it yet, but I will when people come over. I hope it works! For those who said it doesn't work, have you watched the videos? The packaging says if it doesn't work, you need to incorporate further training, which the videos show. |
Teddy Bear was freaking out when we had some bad storms and hail lately so I got the thundershirt for him. I put it on him when we had the next storm and he was so calm he was like a different dog. He laid on the bed and slept like a baby. I tried putting it on him when we went to the vet and it didn't seem to work so well...he was still scared and shook like a leaf. I was afraid the thundershirt wasn't working anymore but he was calm again wearing the thundershirt when we had the next storm. I think I put it on him a lot looser when we went to the vet so I am going to make it a little tighter the next time we go to the vet and see if it works. I think it was worth every cent for the calming effect it is having on him during storms. I was feeling so helpless watching him be so scared of the storms and not being able to calm him down. |
^^I'm glad it works for your Teddy Bear during storms. The Thundershirt does wonders for my Teddy during storms and when I run the shop vac and other loud tools/cleaning machines. He doesn't shake or hide anymore. :) |
I wish they had a lighter mesh material that's more breathable. I could keep it on Cooper all day:cool: |

3 Attachment(s) We got our Thundershirt! I think the small seems fine to me. It's pretty darn snug on him. You probably can't tell in the picture, but it is. Sorry the one pic was blurry - I did not realize it was when I took it. Did I put it on right?! LOL.... Can't wait to try it out. We are supposed to have thunderstorms tonight but he's not generally bothered by them. I suppose the real test will be fireworks or gunshots. |

I ordered one also should be here friday or sat. My daughters dog is just go go I am hoping it may work for him. But I bought it for the fourth of July lexi is so scared of fireworks. Not so much thunder tho. I would have never bought one but all of the good things said on this forum. It's worth a try :) |
Love the first pic! Jackson looks like he is very happy with his cool, new shirt. Hope it works for him. |
Well, shoot. Jackson never has issues with thunderstorms but we just got a few LOUD bangs and now he is shaking and ran off! I just put the shirt on him real tight but I should have put it on him ahead of time. :( Darn. He wouldn\'t even take turkey from me, which means he\'s really scared. Do you think it won\'t be successful since I put it on him after it already started? He is under my bed right now with it on. |
