I found GREAT snap-on bows for furbabies!!

Shopping on Etsy.com, I found a woman who makes GREAT snap-on bows!! They tuck the hair into an elastic band, but snap closed. Hard to explain, but I just got Sophie's bow (in pink leopard w/ a fancy little sparkly touch on top) and I am loving it! The bow is beautiful and really well made, but beyond that, IT STAYS IN HER HAIR!! She has really fine hair, so I was thrilled to find something that works for her. (Barrettes just fall out, and I feel like the rubber bands pull too much on her hair.) Here's a link to the site: View Single Bows by snapinbows on Etsy

When I was growing up, we had male dogs and we always put bows in their hair... although, not pink leopard bows like Sophie's. :p

I do, he always has a scrunchy, but wears manly bows for special occasions

What a great idea -- thanks for sharing the site. I like bows in the bows hair. Ladymom makes some really cute boy boys. She even made some custom ones for me thta match my son's HS team colors. I got a football and a baseball one from her, as well as some blue bows for everyday. I just can't get Ben to leave them alone. He rubs his head on anything he can find and winds up dislodging them or making his hair one big knot. Hoping Rocky winds up being better about wearing them.

In the second photo above the bow is open. You just lay the hair against the elastic piece that is BETWEEN the two snaps. (The other elastic piece is a tab to pull on to open the snap.) Once the hair is on the elastic between the snaps, you just fold the elastic over and snap it closed. So it's sort of like "pinching" the hair into the folded elastic. Sorry, I'm not explaining it very well, lol. But it is really quick and easy... and it actually stays in Sophie's hair. I don't think it will be damaging either because the hair is simply tucked into wide elastic, not being pulled on or rubbed against.

ROFL...I can't stop laughing, I know what you are talking about , but those are not the ones, I just don't know how they're called.I got them at the 1.00 store, they come 100 in a bag, and come in different colors, but are not fabric covered

well i received snap on bows that i ordered for magic and they are really cute and made well. but i don't think i can use them. he has thick hair and i tried taking just a little bit of it but could not make it work. i wish she made some that have more space beteen the snaps so i could get his hair in because it is a great idea.:aimeeyork

Maxmom,

Can you post a picture of what you are using on Max? I've got a boy too and am looking for alternatives to bows for him. I got him the football bow from Etsy, and my hubby somewhat approves of it, but regular bows will surely be a no go in his book.

Ooomg I know someone whos getting a new bow for Christmas!! Haha. These are adorable, my little one has such fine hair as well and I, too, feel bad for using latex bands because I feel they pull.

One of the first photos I took of Lolli when we first got her home was of her face and she had a bow put in from her previous owner and you can almost see how its pulling on her and making her eyes look even more bug eyed than they really are. But she didn't have a problem closing them, though.. haha
