| Antlers and Himalayan Chews and Frosty Paws and Bichon Fries! So I've once again been enabled on this forum and have felt compelled to buy so much for Addie. Antlers: I got the Free Range Buckarooz Antlers for Addie, and she likes it! Addie loves chewing. The problem is I could never find her anything she liked chewing except for empty pen tubes. I would literally buy boxes and boxes of pens, take a fresh one out every few days, take out the ink and caps and give her the tube to chew on until it was chewed to death. The problem was it only took her a minute to chew it to death. Addie loved rawhides, but then I found out how horrible they are and couldn't give her any more. She didn't really care for the Bully Sticks, and they seemed to upset her stomach. Back to the subject at hand! Antlers. I gave her one, and she loves grabbing it between her paws and chewing away. The best part is that they don't smell, don't get gross and soggy and take forever to chew! While Addie likes it, I think this would be a product that some dogs wouldn't even bother touching. I can't imagine there's much flavour to the antler, so your baby has to be a dedicated chewer to really love these. Himalayan Chews: Addie's current favourite chew! These last a really long time as well. Not as long as the antlers but longer than a Bully Stick. They're made from the curds of yak or cow milk. Weird, I know. It took Addie a few minutes to get how to angle it properly for chewing because the size I got for her is a little shorter than she's used to. Once she got the hang of it, she kept on at it! She's had it for about a week now, and chewed it down only a few centimeters. It doesn't get soggy, and it smells like BBQ to me (specifically mesquite). It's the chew Addie will take if she gets a choice. So for now, her poor little antler is hanging out with some of her other neglected toys. Frosty Paws: Addie's eyes look like they're going to pop out of her head when she sees me get this from the freezer. I'd seen these at the grocery store for forever but just never really thought about getting them. I'm really glad I decided to pick them up this last time, though! I got the plain vanilla kind, and she absolutely loves them. This has to be her favourite treat of all time. I've never seen her eat anything with such zeal. I will take the little container to the couch, sit down with it in my hand, and let her lick away for a while. When I think she's made enough of a dent, I pack it back up and put it in the fridge for next time. When she's done with this box, I may have to go back and buy the peanut butter flavour. Sweet Potato Chews: Well, I thought Addie would really love these. The brand I got for her were Sam's Yams Bichon Fries. They're dried sweet potato sticks with no added colours, preservatives or sweeteners. Addie ate one and seemed to like it enough to eat it all, but less than thirty minutes later, she tossed her cookies. I think her stomach just doesn't handle sweet potato well. There was another treat I gave her with sweet potato, and she had bowel problems the next day. So we're officially giving up on sweet potato treats. The weird thing is she loves Orijen, and that has sweet potato in it as an ingredient. Maybe she just can't handle a lot of sweet potato. *shrug* Any of your pups out there liking or disliking any of these products? Do you have another fantastic treat I don't know about and want to enable me to get it? (I fall to peer pressure all the time. Give it a go! ) Oh, and here's where I got Addie's treats from (Excluding Frosty Paws. That would be in your grocer's freezer.) Eco Friendly Dog Beds, Dog Toys, Dog Collars, Dog Treats, Dog Clothes and More from Olive It's a small, privately-owned company. I talked to the ladies, and they said they do not have any food products made in China. I believe all products on their site are made in the U.S., but I'm not positive (They did say they make an effort to buy supplies from Austin to help support local businesses). They ship free to Austin, but charge outside of the city. Oh, and I am in no way associated with the company ... aside from being a happy, first-time customer.

| Himilayan chews sound tempting. BBQ huh? That's like a treat for Uni AND me! Might have to wait till next week or so. Just spent $50 bucks on Uni's Cosequin and Petzlife.

Ah, yes. But at least you're spending your money on important things! Cosequin and Petzlife are much more important than Himayalan Chews. I spent about the same on dog treats and toys last weekend, so now we're taking a little break from Addie spending. Here's a link to the main site: Himalayan Dog Chew - 100% Natural. Authentic. No Preservatives. An Everest Sized Treat It has more information on the chews, and if you decide you want to buy it later, the site will help you locate a store near you (hopefully) that carries it.

| Oh, and the best part about the chews? I don't have to tell people they're made from a bull's *ahem* ... perhaps that's not forum appropriate.

| I'm so glad you posted this! I just got some antlerz for mine and gave them to them a couple of weeks ago. They'll chew on them for a little bit and then get bored. They LOVE bully sticks but I have some strong, active chewers and the bullies don't last any time at all. I want to find something that they'll really enjoy but that will take them some time to devour. I'm going to try the Himalayan chews. Thanks for the tip!

| I just have a question ... this has been bothering me for some time now... Pig ears, chew hooves, bully stix, antlerz, etc. .... aren't these things the same as meat by-products that we try not to buy in the food we feed our dogs? Please educate me...I'm so confused!

| Well I'm not sure about the others, but bully sticks (I just know about the Merrick brand) is pure beef "tendon" that's been dried. Flossies I believe are the same thing but thinner. They are 100% digestable, so not an actual "by product". Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

| Max did not like the Bichon Fries but LOVES the Sam's Yams made by the same company. They are just a different size. He also loves his Antler by the company that makes Moo Bully Sticks.

I am so happy I found out about antlers. It's so nice for Addie to have something to keep her occupied for a bit!

Not sure about the pig ears, but the others you mentioned would not be considered as by-products.
