[News] Doggie Beer? Pet Shop Owner Sees a Niche 1 Attachment(s) AMSTERDAM, Netherlands - After a long day hunting, there's nothing like wrapping your paw around a cold bottle of beer. So Terrie Berenden, a pet shop owner in the southern Dutch town of Zelhem, created a beer for her Weimaraners made from beef extract and malt. "Once a year we go to Austria to hunt with our dogs, and at the end of the day we sit on the verandah and drink a beer. So we thought, my dog also has earned it," she said. Berenden consigned a local brewery to make and bottle the nonalcoholic beer, branded as Kwispelbier. It was introduced to the market last week and advertised it as "a beer for your best friend." "Kwispel" is the Dutch word for wagging a tail. [Story found by hle_625] http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16752671/?GT1=8921 |
i just saw this on cnn i wanna doggie beer! |
When my 13 yr old was young I gave her some beer in her bowl. Well, she drank too much and got pretty tipsy. Gave me a big scare! She was stumbling around and staggering. I never gave it to her again. Funny looking back but she was sooo tiny and may have drank too much. |
What??!! Is that REAL beer?? Isn't that bad? OR are they mixing some sort of brew for dogs?! Crazy! |
I'm sure its only a matter of time for this stuff to be available here. Our State legislature is trying to pass a bill that would allow dogs to come into bars and restaurants with their owners if the business owner permits it. Of course they would have to be well behaved and on a leash. |
bad idea |
theres no way that could be good for a dog right??? |
Definately bad idea. Can't be healthy or beneficial to your dogs health so I would never buy it. Yuck. |
woah! THIS IS A NON-ALCOHOLIC BEER! it is beef juice (?) and malt. it is just like the whole ice cream for dogs thing. not an everyday thing, but as a treat. the woman said that she only gives it to her dog once a year. i would buy it |
Cute idea! Well, now the babies can drink just like us. :) |
