Rob, Im so glad that Molly is doing much better. I will keep her in our prayers. Hugs, Gucci and Marie |
I just came across this post and am shocked at how similar this sounds to what my little 3 year old yorkie has been experiencing. It started 1 years ago with shocking symptoms like the ones described above. The worst being blood and a lot of it coming out of her back end. The first time this happened we rushed to the 24 hour clinic and spent a ton of money to do tests and get her healthy. They all came back inconclusive. It was a mystery. Every few months since then she would randomly get sick, with the same symptoms, ut I was getting better at recognizing them, so it never got super serevere. Recently our little one has been getting sick every month and now every few weeks. The vet finally suggested exploratory surgery because we had exhausted all other tests. We just got the biopsy results back and they show she is healthy...normal functioning. The vets last suggestion is Addison's disease which they want to test for, but my gut feeling is it is HGE. After reading these posts I don't feel so alone in this, and others have an idea of our frustration. The attacks look so horrible and I just want then to stop. Has anyone tried progestirone as a treatment? Any advice others have please share. Thanks! |
I would suggest contacting Susan Davis Holistic Vet and Pet Nutrition Journal she is very knowledgeable and has helped keep my baby's chronic pancreatitis under control for a year now. I know quite a few people from YT use her. Good luck :) |
Thank you for the contact. The more I research it the more it sounds like HGE, but I don't see what the long-term treatment is, other then dealing with the attacks on a case by case basis. I will try reaching out to Susan. :aimeeyork |
