| Royal Canin I read through this forum, and read some bad feedback on Royal Canin.... I am getting so frustrated. I have tried so many foods with Jeanie, and she is so picky. I finally find something that she will eat (I have had all the really good food and this was recommended by a very good pet store). I thought it would be ok. So my question is, she is eating it with a bit of wet mixed in regularly now. Her stools look good, she is going regularly, and she seems to be feeling good on it. Should I change her? Is it really bad? the better brands that I have tried she just won't eat. I haven't tried Canidae and it comes up a lot..........should I change her to Canidae and risk her not eating properly again? I just want to do whát's right for my baby that I love so much |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | My pups gained weight on RC; I heard the company was recently sold and their formula may change so I would be very careful to continue to monitor the food intake. Otherwise, I think if it is working, don't change it. I switched to California Natural and saw a wonderful improvement in their coats if you think about changing one you might want to try. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Canidae really is a great food. And, I think it is generally pretty tasty for most dogs, so she might really like it. This site is very educational: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php

| Royal Canin The breeder started Freyja out on Royal Canin and I continued it. Eventho Freyja had some tummy issues (related to vaccines and coccidia) I still go back to RC 28 Yorkshire Terrier. Freyja is now healthy and thriving and she has a glossy coat and nice teeth. Patti & Freyja |

| I was just looking at the ingredients in the dry RC kibble for Yorkies and adult regular. I personally wouldn't feed this. Could you try Canidae while keeping your dog on RC to see if she likes it? Both foods have brewers rice in them which is pretty much a nutritional-less filler. It also has corn gluten meal. I would stay away from any gluten right now because of recalls. Also, chicken fat is a little high on the list. That being said, I have seen a lot of foods that are a lot worse than this one.

| My baby came to us on RC adn would barely eat. I added chicken liver and beef and cottage cheese and then things were fine. I have since weaned him off of always having allthe home cooked with it. But i am switching to canidae...and hoping it works. I am nervouse because I finally got RC to work, but I want to at least try. I will have to mix with other favorites for awhile I am sure. I wish you well In your issue/decision too!!!!

| I'm facing the same dilemma. Riley was on Eukanuba for yorkies but now my new little girl is on royal canine. Riley loves it and now doesn't touch his food. She was already on it so that's why I continued to feed it. I think I might switch to something else all together.

| My whole gang eats Royal Canin. I believe you will always find someone who has something bad to say about each and every brand. The puppy formula is 33% protein and the adult is 28%. It is formulated with the unique needs of the yorkie in mind, the long coat, the high energy, their sensitive skin, their teeth problems and their particular jaw formation. I have not found another manufacturer that has taken the entire dog into consideration, when they formulated their product. I suggest that you Go to their website and do your own research, and then make up your own mind. |
