Royale Canine Yorkshire 28 food...good or bad? We bought this since was specifically for Yorkies. Gracie was eating Eukanuba before this. Have read where other Yorkies were itching due to the RC food, possibly drying out skin???? I have noticed Gracie itching since we have switched her food. If it is her food, what do you recommend. She will be a year old in July. Thanks, Heather |
Hi Heather, I'll be closely watching this question you just asked. I will be bringing home my puppy this weekend and wonder what food is best also~ Right now she is on Pedigree and I want to try to get her to a different food. I thought Eukanuba was one of the best. Melissa :aimeeyork |
Eukanuba has biproducts in it that is why we switched. I feed her Max soft food as well, no bipoducts and she loves it. She likes the RC 28, but the itching has got to stop. She would picke the RC out of the Eukanuba when we we swithing her food. The itching is not constant, but enough that I notice. Wonder if Max has small breed hard food. We probably spent 30 mintues or more reading ingredients on dog food bags about 3 weeks or so ago. Guess back to the pet store to look again and try another. Heather |

I had Chewy on RC and he had constipation and clumps of flakes and scratching ALL THE TIME! Their ingredients aren't bad but not that great either. It is the corn filler that causes problems. As soon as I changed him to Natural Balance all his symptoms went away. They have a bunch of different flavors and great meat rolls. He seems to like it too. Good Luck and let us know... |
Just a follow up to my post: You really want to stay away from corn, soy products and meat byproducts. You can search the site and you will find great info on this. |
I changed Gucci's food to Natural Balance Ultra dry food and the meat rolls. So far so good. I had Gucci in Nutro max and she was itching. I just saw that Nutro is in the no no foods. I have already change her food a couple times looking for the best. I think I will stick with the Natural Balance Ultra Allergy. Gucci was having a lot of flakes on her skin and scratching a lot. She started on this food 6 days ago, it seems to help. :) |
I have both of mine in Organix. Working fine |
