Are there any safe chew treats? My 3 babies love chew treats...greenies are there favorite, but they also love dingos, and other brands I cant think of. They love them so much but I am scared to give them to them. For awhile after the original "greenie" scare I stopped but then they changed the formula and I started again. I am out of them now and after reading several threads here about choking on greenies, rawhides and even bully sticks(which we never tried) I am not sure I will buy them again. But, what can we feed them...they love to chew, and I cant help but think the chewing must be good for their teeth? Is there a safe chew treat for Yorkies? Laura |
I don't really like to give Lacy rawhides or greenies either. I used to when she was younger but have heard too many bad things about them. Now I prefer to give her bully stix (made by Merrick). I've never seen her break off a piece of a bully stix. It just seems to get chewed down slowly. I really feel like nothing is 100% safe but so far the bully stix have been fine. |
Try Chew-lotta or Nyala bones neither are chunky or pieces get pulled off :D |
Bully Sticks Merricks brand is stink free and also Beyond Spoiled -Katherine V (her handle) is stink free. They keep your baby's busy for hours!! |
The Merrick's Flossies (bully sticks) are the only chews Ruby gets. However, I would still watch over them with these - Ruby did manage to tear off a long, thin piece of one and started gagging. |
They can choke on Bully Sticks - my Wylie chewed off a piece last week and we had to "heimlich" him as he was choking. Scared us half to death. You might try the non-edible Nyla Bones - there may be some other non-edible brands out there too... |
