| Fleas Does anyone else have a TON of fleas this year? They're so bad here right now. The Frontline isn't lasting as long as it normally does. I had to put some on her again this morning. But it hasn't killed the flea yet...how long does that take? The stupid thing keeps going into her longer hair & the wiggle-worm won't be still for me to get it out. She's going to the groomer on Saturday & I'm tempted to cut her short just to make it easier to get them if I need to. We've never had fleas this bad...just wondered if we were the only ones.

No Longer a Member | I hear you hun. I did give Gizmo a hair cut trying to do the same. Finally got some Advantage and to my dislike I waited a long two weeks before bathing him. I knew after a bath the stuff wouldn't be working anymore...and here they are already showing up again. I wonder what is the earliest I can do him again? Good luck with your battle. Will let you know if I find something that works better. Isn't there one on the market that is supposed to be waterproof? |

| Toto and I feel your pain .... It didn't take me but a few days to realize why I didn't want to move back home to Alabama .... fleas/bugs!!! Poor Toto never got a flea in Colorado and she immediately acquired a couple when we got home. I bathed her, killed the fleas and treated her with her Advantage. She still clawed & scratched like she was infested. I did the "Dawn Soak" and didn't find a single flea. She got up the other morning with a huge knot over one of her little eyes and Dr. Lucy says she has developed an allergy to fleas and she is on medication! grrrrrrr She had just learned to love exploring the yard and being outside ... now, I don't even dare let her play on the patio! No doubt she and I are miserable here ... I want to just sell the house and move somewhere that's "flea free"!! We are going to talk to an exterminator and hopefully there's something that we can do to the yard that will kill all the creepy crawly things and not harm her. I'm sorry that I can't offer a suggestion and if there are those who have any, we would love to hear them too!!

| I know I live in a totally differnent part of the country but I have had absolutely no fleas. (I hate the nasty buggers!) I have treated my collie with revolution and my yorkie with frontline plus. However, I just want to say that my collie is 10 and even when I wasn't real consistent with the frontline (what I used to use on her) she wouldn't get fleas. I used to treat her like twice a year during that season and never had a problem. But my husband does have to spray for termites and carpenter ants and I bet that the chemicals also kill fleas. Those chemicals really make me nervous especially with the yorkie because she's so small but maybe that would be an option for you. Use it just before you go on vacation or something. Just an idea. |
