| Homemade food can help gain weight! Last time Jewelina was sick she didn't want to eat so I started offering her all kinds of things she doesn't normally get like chicken, rice, pumpkin, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc. Since then I've been letting her still eat the yogurt, pumpkin and cottage cheese to help build back up her immune system and I suppose it could be a coincedence but it seems like she is putting her weight that she lost back on faster and filling out a teeny bit! I normally only feed her Canidae dry but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't keep letting her have "people" food on a daily basis since she's so tiny! I'd love for her to get to at least 2 1/2- 3 pounds so she'd be closer in size to Jaden and I was wondering if anyone else out there had noticed that by allowing them to eat more than just their regular kibble if it helped with gaining weight? We've tried all kinds of different treats and I free feed but I've not seen anything that has helped with her as much as this! |

| If she is gaining weight and doing well on it I would continue it. I have just started more homecooking for mine. I have always given them cottage cheese and yoqurt though. The yoqurt is really good for their digestive system

| She seems to be doing well on it and especially like the cottage cheese and yogurt! She normally eats her kibble well but she gets SO excited when she sees me making a treat for her. I think I'm going to keep up with it , I've tried so many things to get her to gain a little weight and it seems like so far, nothing has worked. I think I'm going to start offering the cottage cheese and yogurt to Jaden too since it's supposed to be good for their digestive system! |

| I'll say!! I was just saying that Vixxen is gettin...uh....a little rounder Cause she loves the chicken/rice I make them now!! I gotta say too...when I had Momiji here, who is just over 2 lbs and 7 months old, that little girl never ate and mom said "don't get worried, she just doesn't eat." Well I decided to cook and see if she would finally eat that...and I KNOW she gained weight be the time mommy picked her up!! Kana even held her up and said "oh! I feel a belly on you!!" LOL So if I had a tiny one that I thought should gain weight, I would definately keep feeding what you were feeding
