NEED ADVICE/HELP--Picky Eater Hi everyone! I really need your advice. Lulu is 1.5 years old and has always been a picky eater. In fact, in order to get her to eat her Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul, I have had to hand feed her. I leave a small amount of food out for her all day but she doesn't touch it. I have played games like tossing her kibbles to her and that worked for a while and then stopped. If I try to mix her kibbles with something like Gerber Chicken Sticks or a little bit of scrambled eggs or chicken, she will eat all the food around the kibbles and spit out the kibbles. Needless to say, this is a chore. First of all I would like to get her to eat something regularly and enough of it so I don't have to worry about her getting hypoglycemia. Second, I would like to get her to eventually eat on her own out of her bowl without hand feeding. I would GREATLY appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks, Colleen |
There are several of us who cook for our babies. SIssy went on a kibble strike when she got really sick with Giardia. She lost almost a whole pound, and she's just over 4 lbs to begin with!! I began cooking for her. She gets yogurt for breakfast (with her Missing Link), and dinner is boiled chicken with brown rice, sweet potato, asparagus, carrots and spinach. I make a bath about one a month and put in freezer containers. She gets pieces of fruit and veggies throughout the day and then she will nibble on some kibble as well. She eats much more kibble now since getting Angel. Angel also eats Sissy's diet. I feel freally good knowing that her food is really fresh and what it contains. |
Hi Jodie, Thank you for letting me know about Sissy's diet. I may have to try something similar. When does Sissy eat her kibble? Is it with breakfast and dinner or just throughout the day with the the fruit and vegetables? Thanks, Colleen |
My little baby is a very picky eater also!!! We took him to the vet the other day and they gave us a bag of dog food called IVet!!! And Diesel just loves it!! |
Thank you for the information on the IVET food. I will look into that! |
