| Wow! My Pookie does all those things too. She'll look at her food, then walk away. I put down wet food and she'll walk away from that too, so I have to lure her by holding out the spoon which she'll lick, or by putting bits on the floor leading over to the dish. I have to use a saucer to feed her because she won't eat anything out of her bowl. The funny thing is that we can use our cat to get her to eat. As soon as the cat heads towards Pookie's food, she'll go right over and bark at her and then when we take the cat away, she'll eat her food, as if to make sure the cat doesn't get any of it. My husband thinks it's nuts to go to so much trouble to get her to eat, but I worry about hypoglycemia. DH thinks that she should just eat on her own like other dogs. He thinks I'm spoiling her. Wait until I show him this forum. Ha! |

| I've been feeding *real* food for many, many years, and have never had any problelms with any of my dogs or any of the fosters not eating. Fact is they are real chow-hounds! They get breakfast, snack at lunch and then dinner. |

| hmmmmm..... So confused! Chuey does NOT eat this way! He must be part pig or something then!! What's going on?? I do not let him free feed, but feed him frequently throughout the day, (every 3-4 hrs with tiny snacks in between). And he eats until it's all gone or he's full. But he doesn't stop for anybody! And that's that he's fighting pneumonia! He is getting better though! Crazy Chewster!!!

| My two yorkies are quite the opposite. Food is always out and they eat eat eat and want more I can't figure out where its all going. Pia is 2 lbs and eats more then my pekingese who's 15 lbs. My girls are literally pigs. I have to put Snoot (the peke) in the bathroom to eat alone. They sit at the door and scratch and whine and fight each other to get his leftovers. Then they run to their bowel to eat some more. They definately don't eat like birds and they'd probably try to eat a bird if they could get a hold of one

| Bailey REALLY eats like a BIRD!! I put out 3/8 cup of kibble which is what I had read on this food's bag is the appropriate amount for his age and weight and that will last him like sometimes 2 days I don't know why he eats like that first I though because I changed his food but we just visited the doctor and they said he looked fine and healthy.......but sometimes I have to do like the other YTers have said if I see him at his bowl I stand right by him because if I move HE MOVES ..........Throwing kibble on the flow always seems to work if you want your pup to eat Bailey gobbles it up when I throw it on the floor, so maybe he is claustrophobic and don't like sticking his head in the little bowl because he can't see anything and it gets dark LOL

| Hannah takes a piece of food and goes to the corner or goes to be blanket and eats it and then goes over to her bowl and gets another piece. I though it was because she was the runt and had to fight for her food with her litter mates but I guess it is just a "yorkie thing". I also throw her food to get her to eat, we will play "ready, set, go" and she will take off running and then bring it back to my lap and eat. I will do anything to get her to eat... |
