| Shots are always a risk - I feel the more you can space things out the better. Keep in mind the same 1cc vaccination they give your baby is the same vaccination they are giving the 100lb Mastiff! |

| Neecy: I don't know about the liquid kind. I think that it may be absorbed faster, but I don't know how much to use. I would suggest looking at the amount (mg) of both the liquid and the pills to see how much active medication is in each, and then calculate how much to give her. I might even use less cause she is so small. I hope she is doing better tonight.

| What sort of reactions have you seen with yorkies after vaccinations? Posie is 1 yr. 3 mos. and just had her annuals (rabies, distemper, bordetella). I didn't have her when she got her puppy vaccinations, so I don't know how she reacted, but she is lethargic, eats very little, has no energy and is not acting at all like herself. I called the vet but they said to take her in for them to watch (I said no, she gets scared and shakes when we enter the vet's office) and take her temperature. It has been 48 hours! Shouldn't she be getting back to normal? She doesn't yelp when I touch her or indicate that there is soreness, although she won't jump on the couch or bed. So, maybe she is sore. Any suggestions? I stayed home with her all day today to make sure she didn't get any worse. Should I take her to the vet? The emergency vet told me that it recently took her dachschund 2 days to get over the shots. |

| This is a good thread. Chewy is getting his last round of shots tomorrow and I'm not sure whether to do the rabies as well. I'm going to contact the breeder to see how he did with his other shots. I know that they aren't supposed to get Lept, but I've heard that they shouldn't get Corona either. Does anyone know about this? |

| I am by no means an expert but when Teddy got his shots a few weeks ago and showed signs of reaction I called to ask about the tylenol and also baby aspirin and was told not to give either but to instead give him benadryl at the rate of 1 cc per pound.

| Posie has finally come out of it. She is eating again and playing and jumping around. It took nearly 72 hours for her to get back to normal after the shots on Monday. I stayed home with her yesterday and she was doing so well this morning that I left her alone and had my in-laws check on her. I am so relieved! Thank you for your support! |

| I wish I would have known all of this before my Linus got his shots. We got his first set when he was with his breeder, and he got a Corona shot. Then we took him to our vet 3 weeks later, and he got Lepto and Corona. Then we took him in again and he got every shot but rabies and distemper. But on his last set, he's getting Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies, but it's getting split up into 3 different shots (he does fine when he gets them but our vet refuses to give him all that at once). Does it just sound like my baby got WAY overvaccinated?

| Starsky just got his 3rd set of shots too. The vet won't give him his rabies until the top grown up teeth come in. She thinks they may be in 2 to 3 weeks or so. Has anyone heard of this?

| I have heard of that too...but my vet is going to give him his anyway...I know that sometimes they won't alter them until them because they don't want to anestisize them more than once.

| Lexi just got her thord round of shots as well this past weekend but I asked about rabies and the vet said we still had to wait. She was still too little and wanted the adult teeth to come in. She hasn't even lost her first baby tooth. She is only 15 weeks, is she really too younge for the rabies shot?
