For those who homecook for their yorkies For those who give their yorkies only homemade food what do you give for breakfast? |
I sometimes cook for my furkids, I always do stredded chicken breast and an egg, hope this helps:) |
I cook mine scrambled eggs periodically |
We feed the same types of food for breakfast as we do for supper. 1/3 meat (usually chicken, lean beef, turkey or lamb) 1/3 veggies/fruit (carrots. beans, asparagus, peas, blueberries, apples etc.) 1/3 starch (ww pasta, brown rice, sweet potatoes, cooked oatmeal etc) A small dollop of plain (no sugar yogurt) or low fat cottage cheese. We also add a dribble of canola oil or olive oil every couple of days and a smidge of salt if she is not having cottage cheese (as the cheese has enough salt). The amount we feed depends on how active she is going to be so we can maintain her weight. |
Is this the only food you give or do you also give commercial food? Also, is this a nutritionally complete diet, I mean, do they get all they need from this formula or do you have to supplement also? Quote:

This is all we feed - although she gets doggie treats. She also enjoys a piece of my crust from my lunch or the occasional few extra bites of whatever fruit/veggies (doggie safe though) through out the day that I'm having for a snack. We feed based on what our vet has recommended and the vet says that supplements are not needed. There are many schools of thought on what to feed our doggies, so we did lot's of reading, talked to our vet many times and then did what works best for us and our sweetie. |
