Lola is practically all silver/tan at 6 months. You can see in my avatar what she looked like when I got her. I gave her a puppy summer cut and now her hair is growing out longer. She still has a little black on the face because I don't have the heart to cut it off(I like it longer on her face).

My Murphy was showing silver at 5 months as well. I love it and call him my little Silver Tin Man!

awwwww These little silver babies are adorable... Chewy is very light on his top of his head, like a blond tan... he is black with light silver roots.... he has the stripe going down his back... he's my little peppy la pew skunk!!!! I am kind of looking forward to cutting off the black and having him just be silver but his hair needs to grow longer first...

Peeka and Boo started turning silver at like 9 weeks and Peeka has it on his head and back he is now starting the tan on his head he is almost 18 weeks

That is what I did with my Maximillian. I shaved him when he was 1 and now he is silver with a jet black tail! he has a blonde head too. I love it.

Typically in a young puppy, the first thing that will change is the head, which will break anywhere from creamy white to silvery grey at around 9 or 10 weeks, earlier if the pup is going to be especially light in color, longer obviously if they are going to be darker. Next to change is usually the chest, it will break "blue" first, then you will likely notice the back of the neck next. The EARLIER this change to blue, most likely the lighter your dog will be (as in very early, almost white... late, closer to black..anywhere in betwen shades of blue) The head color will continue to deepen until the dog is 2 years old or so, so even dogs who break white will eventually be gold or tan.

Jaxon had the cutest silver patch on his head as a baby. It has continued to grown and eventually turned more of a gold color. I love it.
