| Pain Meds???? I took Joey and Izzie to the Vet yesterday for their rabie shots. Izzie hadn't had her's yet and it was Joey's annual. The Vet (not my normal Vet, his assistant) told me if they got sore I could give them a 1/4 -1/2 tsp of Children's Liquid Benedryl if they needed it. Well I stopped at the store and bought some, but it doesn't say anything about soreness, just runny noses, allergies, etc. They don't seem to need it so I haven't given them any. Why would he tell me to give allergy medicine? If there is another kind of pain med, IF they would need it, what would I give?

| Thank you for the quick reply. I've been doing a search on here for pain meds, but not finding anything of help so far. I don't think they will need anything. They had the shots around 9:30 AM yesterday morning and outside of just sleeping a little more, they act perfectly fine. I just wanted to know why Benedryl and what kind of pain medicine should I use if ever I'll need some in the future.

| Guess I should have included their weights for correct dosage. Joey is 3 lb 9 ozs, Izzie is 3 lbs 2 ozs and for the other two if they would ever need it are 6 lbs 2 ozs and 5.0 lbs Thanks for all the replies so far.
