| allergies or a cold? Right after I got Benji back from the vet on Saturday he started doing this weird noise like something keeps tickling his nose. I really can't explain it but he does it all the time except when he is sleeping. It kind of sounds like he is getting a cold and his nose is all stuffed up. Has anyone else had this problem with their Yorkies? I am not to concerned about it because he got a full check up on Saturday and he is still eating/drinking/pooping and all that good stuff a dog does!

| Glad to hear all went well at the vet! Is he microchipped now? Not sure about the snorting, I know they can catch colds and have allergies, not sure how to tell the difference. Sorry, not much help

| yuppers all microchipped. We had a busy day after the vet so I wasn't able to post until Sunday. Thanks for letting me know they can get colds and they can have allergies. I had no idea. I really wont worry about it unless it goes on for a lot longer and he gets worse. I just thought there might be some home remedy I could to to make his nose clear up. If only dogs could talk!

| N'Stein he is like me...allergic to perfume and cleaning stuff that smell strong. When it start we thought it was kennel cough. He was treated for this he was 12 weeks old and almost died because an unexperimented vet give him 2 kinds of antibiotics. We finally realised that he was allergic to do product I was using to clean during is training period.

| ok, so this may sound a little strange, if it doesn't get better soon, have your vet check for nose mites - my louie was doing the snorting thing and he seems like his nose itched all the time.it was very obvious that it was driving him crazy. I took him to the vet and he said nose mites and gave him a shot - he had to have 1 shot every 2 weeks (3 shots all together) so that they would not come back. That night, after the first shot, it was almost cleared up completely. The vet said nose mites are common but are mistaken for a cold or allergy. all I know is that louie has been fine ever since! Hope your baby is better soon!! |
