| How Long do you Walk your Yorkie for? The weather here has been gorgeous. For the past two days Otis and I have taken walks for about an hour long, uphill and downhill, in 70 degree weather. He is slightly panting, and there's no water until we get home. He doesn't ask to be carried and he seems to enjoy himself, but I'm concerned that an hour up and down hills is too much for his little body. I noticed when we get home, he drinks a ton of water, then plops down on the cold kitchen floor for about 1/2 hour. How long do you take your doggie on walks for? |

| Wow, that's a long time! Yoda gets tired after maybe 30 minutes and wants to be picked up. If we go uphill, he gets tired a bit quicker. Maybe bring a bottle of water with you for those longer walks, Junebug? When Yoda gets home after a long walk, he just poops out and naps after drinking water if we didn't bring any with us. |

| Sandy lasts about 15 minutes on a walk, then starts limping and wants you to carry her - silly girl Tia, well, I really don't know - but she got out of the yard for 15 minutes today and she was totally winded and out of breath - knowing her, she probably wasn't walking though

| We try to take him on either a 30 min. walk (at least) or two 15 min. walks, if our schedules work out that way. I look forward to taking him out more as the weather warms up, though!

| I took Hercules out for a 20 minute walk the other day, and I picked him up twice. He seemed to want a break. I guess I'll have to take him out for 10 - 15 mintues and then work my way up to 20 - 30 in the future. I love taking him out though, people always notice him!!

| How old do they have to be before you start walking them? Fred is 13 weeks now.. is it okay to just walk him up and down the sidewalk in front of the house so he can explore the "wilderness"? The weather in Texas is gorgeous right now, also and I would love for him to be outside for a little bit. It's been awhile since TExas has had good sunny, breeze 70-degree weather and I would love to take advantage of that this weekend! |

| Junebug: You can take them out at any age as long as the weather is nice. I would definately take him out. He'll love it. My Jasmine loves to go for walks. We walk to school to pick my son up from Kindergarden. It's 10 minutes each way. I think she could walk double that though. After he walk she takes a little nap. |

| Do your babies have all their shots yet? I would love to take Frankie out on walks, but I thought I couldn't let him out walking outside until he was done with his shots. |

| Is walking on a leash a natural thing or do they have to be taught. The first and only time I put one on Beau, he just stood there frozen wouldn't even move when I called him and tugged slightly. |

| Luigi & I usually walk for about an hour to hour and 1/2. I take water with us but he never wants it unless its in his bowl. But we started out a lot less time. Yesterday, it was soo nice out we went for 5 walks about 45 mins each. He couldn't get enough. |

I get so upset when I see people bringing around tiny tiny newborn puppies because they think it's cute. Well, it isn't. It's highly dangerous for puppies. | |
