| FortiFlora Does anyone give their yorkie FortiFlora? I just started my little Kinder on half a packet a day. My vet said it would not hurt her. Susan |

| I used to use it. I had no issues with it. I switched to Royal Canin Sensitive digestion small breed and it has a probiotic in it so I stopped giving the FortiFlora.

| What do you think about the ingredients in it such as animal digest? I read about it on the internet and it did not sound good. It said it is from dead euthanized animals . I think you are very knowledgeable and could help me on that question. |

It’s actually a good source of protein and is mostly used for flavor. There is not a whole lot of it in the probiotic so to me it wasn’t a huge deal. Purina has veterinarians on staff that really work hard on their products like this so I feel pretty confident in using it. My vet really likes it. I mostly stopped using it due to my food having probiotic and it was getting expensive for 4 dogs. I would definitely use it again if I needed to. I think it’s a good product.

| We've used FortiFlora a few times during food switches and once for soft stools, it's the best thing we have out here. Although, it's pricey and we also did half a sachet per day and it worked great for Mike every time. |

| I gave my two Yorkies the Royal Canin Digestive Care sm breed. After feeding this for some time, I don’t remember how many months, my smaller Yorkie had several episodes of pancreatitis. I checked the protein level and if I remember correctly it was quite high for Yorkies. I am thinking it was 28%. It may be a totally different food. |

| Just a little FYI.....Z/D is pretty high in fat for a dog with pancreatitis. My Teddy Bear has MVD, IBD and pancreatitis. He is on Z/D because everything else we tried was setting off his IBD; but I would just advise you to speak with your vet to see if there are other options. We have had to watch Teddy closely and give him meds when he starts to get a bit sickly looking....he is on Reglan and Pepcid daily but I have had to add Cerenia. Not thrilled about feeding him Z/D but he almost died on a lower fat food because the IBD flared. Royal Canin has a hydrolyzed protein diet that "might" be less fat...I am honestly not sure. One of my fosters is on it for other reasons and seems to like it.
