I don't go the holistic route. :) I can see using it as adjunct treatment, but never as a substitute for tried and proven western medicine.

You need to check your sources for this dog food information....reading things on the internet don't make them true.

Vet put him on Hill’s low fat I/d prescription this afternoon. He thought this was the best for him.

First off you can’t just buy prescription food in stores and second it is very rude and uncalled for to refer to dog food that saves lives as junk. If your not willing to look at other sources of information then you have closed you mind to good and truthful information.

It really is a good food for pups with GI issues! I have a foster who landed in ICU due to really horrible GI issues including bleeding. She was put on ID and still was having issues with bloody stools. It was really bad. She has been on the ID low fat now for a few months and is doing fantastic! I have used it for other pups in the past ... they have liked the food and they have done well on it.
Royal Canin also has a low fat gastro diet if you do have issues with the ID low fat...but I think you will be ok with that.
Keep us posted on how things are going.

I have a 9year old very small Yorkie who had a bout of pancreatisis a coupld months ago - Spent 4 days in ICU white pancreatic enzymes improving slowly. It nicely.

I was a dog food fanatic prior for his And always feed the best food I could find.
Now she is on Royal Canin ID for meals twice a day and Hills ID that I use for treats (don’t tell her they are just food not really treats:D).

Her enzymes and lab work are perfect and she is doing very well.

It is a little difficult being sure she does not get any people food, it we are working that out, but she never got much people food anyway.

Compared to her previous dog food this may not seem as wonderful as the precious quality food I purchased, but she is doing great and it saved her life

No question that this is what she needed and I am so grateful, and we are back to agility competitions and fun again:D

I hope your pup is feeling better. We've used Hills RX diet for our Airedale terrier before and it worked very well.

We’ve had a bit of back set today. Diarrhea. Called emergency vet this morning and he said take him off food 24 hours and water 6 to 8 hours. He says I am doing everything right but so worried. He has been restless all morning too. Think his stomach is bothering him. Finally is sleeping now. Seems like mornings are the worse.
